No, Todd Gurley. The dude got paid the biggest RB contract(at that time) and gets hurt that same year. McVay said the next season, "I will never pay a running back again; I'll just use them and rotate them out," and that's what started this RB market problem.

  • @camdengarfeld2693

Teams just don’t want to be looked badly upon for giving rbs a ton of money to get hurt, since they play the most beaten upon position in the sport. That’s not to say you’re not worth the money you think, which you are worth that 10000000%. It is solely for optics and teams not wanting to follow the Zeke Elliot timeline, as harsh as that sounds

Rookie contracts need to be shorter or at least come with incentives built in. The most valuable years of a RB are the cheapest yearsvfor the teams. By the time the contract is over thecteam is looking to draft again. At that point they're nit looking to give a guy more than 1 or 2 more years. The system doesn't work for RBs.

Sucks that RBs get fu**ed like that. Really sucks. RBs should get a common tactic going that if you are 25 and elite, contracts restructured for 4 years with big money or they walk to another team that will pay. n Problem is at 28, you become "old" in NFL RB years...they start looking for the next ekeler.

Pretty simple really 🤷😂😂 nah but because you have guys who can do a job in the draft every year then even if you have to have 3 running backs to make up for a super star then you can do that and nowadays runningbacks can run and catch at least to a point. That's why it don't make much sense to pay runningbacks until that trend changes runningbacks rarely getting paid

Eckeler I'm a Chargers fan, but relax just think about it. I understand you are a great athlete, i could put my self in your shoes, but bro you're a millionaire already the chargers organization gae you a chance being an undrafted player. Not so brutal they want you there but not terrible you're a millionaire that's not so terrible. You're just getting so brutal greedy. Unfortunately the market for running back position, is what it is. They gave you a chance. Be greatfull, someone is giving you bad advice. Just keep your great legacy. At the end just don't be greedy. Your great hunam being. Keep your self strong abdominal humble don't forget.

@@schadracabaki9596He can't want more, but he's not getting it. Forgetting the fact that this happens to running backs all of the time and that he's an undersized 28 year old. You'd think he'd be bright enough to remember that the reason he got a shot was Melvin Gordon wanted more money and the Chargers. Gordon was a first round pick and much bigger then him.

Why would he put himself in your shoes? He’s there because worked hard to get there it’s much harder to be an elite NFL RB than whatever it is you’re doing… get over yourself dude

Short term contracts 2-3 years, no guaranteed money, incentive based. I get Austin is built different and that should be recognized. I would be upset too after putting a team on his back, getting underpaid and not even getting a pro bowl is so disrespectful. If I were him I’d be upset too but he has no real leverage. He’s under contract with no guaranteed money so more than likely a team won’t trade for him and he will be coming back to play for the chargers. Maybe next season or whenever the market is reset he will get paid.
