My first car, bought from an Engineer owner in 1962, my lovely little car was in pristine condition, except for the cable brakes, which caused me to spin and change direction completely during my driving test emergency stop. Needless to say the examiner was not amused, and politely failed my first attempt at a driving test. More fun came later when with four friends, two guitars, a double bass, and drum kit, all crammed into the tiny interior, we were driving to a gig down a steep hill, and went flying past the pub that we should have been playing in, stopping a few hundred yards further after a hair raising scare crossing junctions with no retardation , we emerged shaken but not stirred ready to play music for a wedding party. Happy Days and a lovely little motor car.

Typical of those brakes, at least on mine, but otherwise a great car.

Classic beauty.

Although heard both the 8 and Super 7 engines were all-new designs over the original 7 with little to no carry over, it is known if the both were built using tooling from the 7?

Very interesting and informative. One thing I'd like to add is production didn't cease with the outbreak of war but continued till 1942, and then resumed in 1945. The Twelve ceased in 1940, and resumed in 1945. The Ten was made straight through the war in saloon and utility form.
