Ahh, I think I may have pinpointed the issue with the over-rotation relative to the leg; you were not taking into account the Coriolis effect whereby everything in Australia is supposed to rotate counter-clockwise. By persistently throwing cack handed 😊, you were fighting against the rotational momentum of Earth! I mean, I understand that Aussies are quite fiercely independent, but isn't that taking things a bit far? On a more serious note, your experiment did get me wondering if the various throwsticks were more about stunning an animal just long enough to get run up on it and give it a really good clonk on the noggin, or if they were about killing terrestrial game outright? Liked the staff sling as well, though I like my shepherd style slings just cause deployment and delivery serm to flow better.

Lol Jason, you always crack me up😆 I think with the bigger throwsticks they did more damage (like breaking legs of kangaroos, emus, etc) and then they were clubbed after that. I couldn't get the hang of a shepherd sling fast enough to demonstrate it properly. Good skill for you to have 👍
great job ,you never gave up and thats more on what i would have done ,thank mate from frosty

Hello again. Mate, you're doing great. We're using a Hunting Boomerang 1 meter long. But love your video.
It's cool that you are humble enough to show your failures my man. Try right handed and you might have more luck. I know I would
This mate is one of my favorite human beings.
This channel is real interesting. Watched a few videos and I'm going to subscribe.

Thanks mate👍
Good stuff.
Thanks for including all the [close] misses. Really does a good job showing just how tough it is to do this consistently - I was getting quite frustrated on your behalf! You'd have bagged a lot of food aiming at real targets, I reckon. No doubt those hits would still definitely slow down an animal substantially if not entirely.

Thanks mate, and I think you're right.
Ah the sheeps-leg tree, I have one in my back yard but it keeps shedding legs everywhere all over my yard. Any tips on how to stop it?

Plant a wolf tree next to it, it'll clean up the legs as they fall😁
I was much better with the boomerang at 9 yrs old in 1966 than I knew. For hunting, though I did not hunt, you throw it like a grass cutter. It carves out a huge swath of death just above grass top level. When you tilt it before throwing, it goes around in a circle and can seriously injure or stun a large animal like a kangaroo, then you finish it with a spear or arrow. Range is 50 yards or 750 sqft and is injurious throughout that area. I stopped using mine as a kid, because it was not a toy. I didn't learn how to catch it. If you throw it up like a Frisbee, it comes straight back down to chop your head off. Really. Fascinating weapon. For hunting rabbit, there's going to be tall dry grass. You lead the rabbit along the grass and the human brain will come home with dinner. Foxes do the same. Lastly, if the centroidal mass has a weight implant like steel, it can be deadlier. They have no good application in the U.S. except in abandoned desert areas. I'm going to buy a nice one just to admire like my guns and knives that I don't use either.
That was a lot of fun to watch! Not every throw can be a hit, that's life, I guess. I am sure that, with entire legs (upper and lower thighs), your hits would have probably disarticulated the joints which would have had the same effect as breaking a bone. What distance was it? 15-20 meters?

Thanks! It was 20 meters. I probably set my challenge a little too difficult as I went over the target many times, so yes the whole leg would have been better - but that was in the pot :)
you need to train one of them Ozzy dogs to bring it back When will you have an Australian retriever 😂😂
Boomerangs are like longbow have pick spot keep eyes on it right to end son

@@davegoodridge8352 Thats okay. My wife actually suggested I use all four legs after seeing my struggle (I could have mentioned it in the vid but I'm guessing she wouldn't have liked that ☺

The woolly bugger would run away on three legs anyway 😂. That’s why abos eat nuts and shellfish
😋Hope it tasted good!

I can kill pheasant and rabbits first shot with my Hammer XT, why worry about breaking a sheep’s leg with that after 100’s of throws?
