@@greendino5868 Switchblade 300 are tiny. They are like the size of a mortar round but with half of the payload consisting of battery, propulsion, electronics etc instead of all explosives of mortar rounds. It really isn't a surprise but their value isn't in the ompf. You don't need a big explosion to destroy lightly armored vehicles, or more importantly, enemy artillery. Yes, the switchblade 600 has range of 40km comparable to most standard rounds of self-propelled artillery system but way smaller and cheaper. It is the size of a infantry mortar but has range to hit full sized howitzers and artillery systems. Basically you turn light infantry into counter battery assets as long you have counter-battery radar to relay the enemy location. Switchblade like other loitering munition allow you to also reconnoiter, switch targets mid-flight and more to add value to every launch. Switchblade 300 has 10km range which is farther than most ATGMs and mortars, and so can target vehicles and mortar positions which is tactically significant in addition to being a good recon asset. Also just keep in mind a single F-35 (according to GAO 2022) costs 150 million per plane. That's just 4 extra planes. How about if you create a portable defense system which you can remotely deploy it and then fire in the safe distance to avoid counter battery. Like in Ukraine the soldiers are exposed in the field if they are in the firing position. Also how about a portable remote controlled machine gun, anti-tank and anti aircraft for defense controlled by soldier in the different location or 100 meters away. If you have a 5 remote control machine gun for defense will make the enemy think that you have a larger number of soldier in the area.

Good points all round to be fair, however, I operated on Panther whilst I was in the army and it is very similar to this vehicle. The armor on the Panther is minimal as would be expected from this type of AFV. The issue is with the Top mount weapon station. That thing weighs half a ton when loaded with a weapon and rounds. I have seen 2 of these vehicles flip over within a week when on exercise and the slope was reasonably steep ie 4% incline. Its the bloody top mount that causes this. When I rotated the weapon system, it actually sways the vehicle and there is no way to stop that as the station weighs so much. This vehicle is about a foot taller than a Humvee without a top mount. With the top mount station it is about 3 feet taller. So I respectably disagree with you. @@n3v3rforgott3n9

Comments like this make me laugh. If a country wants to have the power, suspension, protection and advanced capabilities of the JLTV...THEN THEY CAN BUY THEMSELVES A JLTV! And the cost of that JLTV is TWICE the cost of this AM General vehicle. This IS NOT meant to be a "competitor" for the JLTV. AM General actually already tried that. They were one of the five or so companies who designed and built prototypes for the JLTV program. Obviously, Oshkosh's design won. The vehicle shown in this video IS NOT the vehicle that they entered into that competition. This is specifically designed to be a much cheaper, lighter weight ALTERNATIVE to the JLTV. Either for the US military or simply for countries that either can't afford a fleet of JLTVs or can't get approval from the US government for a sale of JLTVs. There needs to be something between the unarmored and even armored Humvees and the cutting-edge, top-of-the-line JLTV...and this is AM General's answer for that niche.
