India should have selected baracuda for SSN or P76 we have got nothing from P75i yet in 24... Considering PN will get 8 SSPs soon & PLAN is already wandering with her SSNs in IOR for 'anti piracy & port calls' role.. we should hae our kalvari + SSPs of P75i in western theatre & these SSNs along with remaining SSPs in choke areas of IOR enterance as well as patrolling SCS
Hopefully they can get the price down though. If these things are $10,000 per round ... from some perspectives it makes sense, but c'mon. You know the actual cost if the GOV NATIONALISED THE DEFENSE INDUSTRY would be about $1,000 per round ... with a fixed price for R&D ... instead of paying for the R&D + $10K per round as it is with a private industry. And, with such exorbitant prices ... the same issue will always be present: Manufacture just a handful of rounds per year, with no capacity to really manufacture a lot of them ever being invested in. And when it comes to warfare ..?? There is NO INVENTORY DEPTH THAT IS ADEQUATE. Nothing can suffice except PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY. What instead happens is using factories like a timeshare ... and having absolutely NO bandwidth. Our annual capacity to make patriot missiles..?? Even with the Ukraine war pressuring them?? Went from 550 to 650 (maybe!). Russia produces over 1,000 a MONTH. In just one of their factories, and probably can already make more. We know they can make about 200 Kinzhals per month. And over 100 drones by the Kalashnikov company alone.... the Lancet. C'mon people. It's not just about bespoke weapons. But PRICE and bandwidth. If you're actual patriots. Or maybe you're just profiteers...
