Today we painted on 16x20" Black Canvas using Thick Oil Paints with Liquid Clear. Colors will be listed below. I look forward to seeing your painting! Send in pics via Facebook Messenger to / paintwithjosh
Colors : Sap Green, Phthalo Green, Yellow Ochre, Van Dyke Brown, Dark Sienna, Cadmium Yellow, Phthalo Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Midnight Black, & Titanium White
Tools : 1" & 2" Brushes, 2 Fan Brushes (Size : Whatever works best for you. One needs to be larger than the other), Palette Knife, & a Script Liner Brush.
To Prep , I applied Liquid Clear to the canvas and wiped off excess with paper towel
When it came time to Paint this video, I covered the Canvas in Bob Ross Liquid White on the top and Liquid Clear on the bottom black section. Do not let it dry. You need them wet for the technique to work. I show you everything else in the video

I absolutely love watching you but I have all these colors in acrylic. No way I can recreate something similar with acrylics? I’m a beginner

Lots of people paint my scenes in acrylics, I just don't know how to teach them. I only teach the wet on wet technique in oils 🥰. I hear you can add water to acrylic to make them act more like oils. And there are slowing agents you can add to make the paint take longer to dry. But if I were you, I'd skip all that and invest in oils. They're a bit more expensive, but you can see what I can do with them. I can't use acrylic. Looks like an elementary student painted it.
Could you do this same idea with Acrylic paint? I can’t afford oil

Hey dear be careful flicking the paint thinner off the brush if the place isn’t well ventilated they think they contributed to bobs non Hodgkin lymphoma:( love the painting
