Her 2nd broadcast TV interview following Lindmo. Given their reputation, she held her own against these nutters I think. English subtitles are forced for American-friendly viewing, but can be easily turned off or changed. Be sure to select 720p for best audio/video. This is the same outfit (costume) she wore in the "Running With The Wolves" video.

+Armadeathon "The guys r makin fun of her, and treats her like a child." No they aren't. Really they aren't. That's just what you wish to interpret. Are you a child by any chance - mentally speaking, at least? That would explain your odd interpretation of events. Joking and laughing with someone is neither making fun of them nor treating them like a child. Grow a sense of humour and learn how to use it. And learn the difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone.

+pvandck +Armadeathon I think it was the moth thing. She looked just a bit off put by their constant sarcastic remarks towards her hobby of collecting moths. Sometimes people don't understand how to speak to someone who have different interests or opinions, thus turns to sarcasm which in this interview came off like they were picking on her, which she didn't appear to have appreciated that.

Just a bit of projection there, maybe? She spends all her time in the company of musicians and other people in the business of entertainment. Age and gender were not issues, and honestly I don't know what you think you were watching. There was no disrespect or patronising going on and it all seemed pretty good natured and comfortable. Of course if it's not your culture I suppose you could read all sorts of bad stuff into anything.

+pvandck I tried to write it so it came off more lightly by saying "picking on" or saying "just a bit". There's no need to blow a comment out of proportion. I'm sure this is just a communication error without the context of tone. I agree with you to a degree, but just felt she seemed a bit uncomfortable. That is all. I'm not trying to be rude, I hope you have a good day. 😕

@@weirdo66636 Yeah you're right tbh. It was a little uncalled for. I haven't really given Katy Perry an honest go of it, and she's probably successful for a reason. But at the same time, who CAN we shit on if not the wildly successful pop stars with legions of fans, millions of dollars, mansions, the works? Sometimes you just wanna be condescending and snobbish when you feel like an artist you like is on another level, you know? haha I wanna imagine Aurora was digging through some deep cuts of more obscure music when she was inspired into being an artist herself (yes yes I know Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen aren't exactly head-y deep cuts either but still)- "idolizing" radio pop stars who are as much marketing icons as they are musicians seems... unfair to Aurora's artistry. Fans are always gonna be that way about musicians they like. We feel like we have good taste, how you gonna imply the musicians we like have comparably poor taste? It's worth pointing out that Aurora has become significantly more commercially successful in the last five years, since those comments were made. There was a time when being a fan of hers felt like being an early adopter of the next big thing.

It was rude to say that it doesn't matter what she says in between the songs, because she says often very important things, for example what the next song is about or what she feels. I think that makes the show special, when an artist says something, instead of constant singing.

as I imagined, she's much more confident in her native tongue. not that her english isn't also amazing, because it is, but she naturally speaks much more slowly and considers her words carefully because she is referencing their meaning. to us english speakers, that is endearing however... perhaps a large part of her charm.

  • @leocarona

+David Shepard-Alenko Interesting observation. I saw she saying in another interview that she loves her native language but she'd rather choose english when singing as she'd feel a bit more vulnerable singing in norwegian. I feel like watching some more interviews gave by her in norwegian to observe that. Hope i'm lucky to find some more with subtitles in any language i understand now.

  • @RohannvanRensburg

I think it's indeed charming, but I don't think her charm is any less here, other than the fact that she seems a tad uncomfortable here and there with their poking fun and generally treating her as a "strange artist" as many interviewers chronically do. I think it further illustrates a maturity in her that fits well with her music.

I'm reading a lot that people believe Aurora was mishandled by her interviewers. I also notice that a lot of these complaints come from English-speaking accounts. I can say, as a fluent Norwegian speaker, that the interviewers were perfectly pleasant and respectful. I think that a lot of the concerns comes from the vocal pitches of Norwegian, I will admit, that if you don't understand Norwegian, it does sound mocking and almost as if they are laughing. However, Norwegian is a tonal language, and that's literally just how it sounds. Also, the subtitles are incorrect in several places, in their translation into English. For example, at the end when she mentions that "det var upassende", the subtitles say that it was "unsettling", which is incorrect, the correct word would have been "inappropriate"- there are other examples. To wrap it up: they were perfectly pleasant, and I did not detect a mocking tone in any of the conversation. It's also worth noting that the men on the interviewing panel are mostly comedians, especially the guy on the far left - comedy and satire is literally their raison detre.

  • @cgboy2003

But she was annoyed. It's always subtle, and fans know how she looks when she is unhappy about the interview. She still smiled because she was new then. She is not a person who easily feels offended. And if it had been so fine, why wouldn't she be on this show again until 2018? She has been on Lindmo regularly but not this one. And why didn't they do this again when she was on it again in 2018? Wasn't that "perfectly pleasant and respectful"? Only morons would fuck with the most talented artist from your own country and make her unwilling to be there again.

It's a humorous talk show. It is about funny comments. Aurora knows that. Their job is to make the conversation and the interview object funny. And they do. A thing about Aurora is that her mind wanders off at times. So if she seems like not laughing it is probably because she didn't pay attention at that moment.

It's nice to see that, even w all those people more impressed about that Katy Perry talked about her song than her songs it's self, and she still thinks is nice of her to share her song but for her Katy Perry liking it is the same than any other person liking her songs. Even if she was grateful because a lot of people had the opportunity to know her as an artist, she just felt grateful as Katy was any other person that's nice tho. And when they asked her if Katy was an idol of her, she stopped for a while thinking if she would look rude if she said no but anyways she preferred to be sincere. She's a sweet soul

The men's continued to pressure her, creating a rivalry with Katy rudely, asking the same question over and over again and she always politely responding with a "no". They laughed at her for collecting moths, and then reduced her to just a talent for singing. He literally said that nothing she said or did that wasn't singing matters, because she sings like an angel. That's disgusting. Aside from the bad parts of the show's interview, i loved as always the way Aurora knows how to be herself.

I don't speak a word of Norwegian, but it's interesting that I can hear quite different accents going on here. There's an interview with Aurora and her two sisters where the interviewer comments that they all have different accents. Apparently the family moved when Aurora was a baby so the oldest sister has an accent from the old place, aurora from the new place and the middle sister has a halfway accent. Norway must have a lot of accents.

Yes Aurora is from Bergen where you put more pressure on the «r» and «t» she is from the east. The other men are from Oslo where you spreek a clean norwegian actually almost Danish, long time ago Norway was under Denmark and we spoke only danish. In norway today we call it *bokmål* it’s a mix between danish and norwegian. After that a man called *Ivar knudsen* has collected dialects from all over norway and put together *nynorsk* (new norwegian) which is how people in norhern Norway and parts of east Norway actually writes. But in different parts of Norway we have different dialects. from the east its again more pressure on the «r» and «t» in south and west we spreek the more Danish-Norwegian way and all the way north we have more pressure on the *i* t* *j* and also eaven further we have the *sami people* .... sorry my english is not pretty good but i hope i gave you a little understanding of our dialects and history of our language

they were making fun of her and her moths, stupid guys, she's very wise and they treated her like a child. I don't know if it was awkward for her, but i was very awkward for me to watch.

I'm not quite sure if she writes bokmål or nynorsk, because in bergen we write bokmål, but i think the rest of hordaland writes nynorsk (don't quote me on that one, because i'm not 100% sure)

+Elisabeth Hasselgreen you are right, great amounts of Hordaland writes nynorsk. But Os is so close to Bergen and the dialect is almost identical, so she writes bokmål like the rest of Bergen :)

When an 18-year-old behaves more adult than the people around her. Incredibly embarrassing behavior. 2 times in 7 minutes the topic was changed and both times the oh so funny men changed back to the topic moth, because it was so funny before.

Dumb interviewers. If I was there interviewing her I would talk about her music, her inspiration, the reasoning behind her lyrics. Instead the conversation is about moths and toilets. Don't get me wrong, we get to find out about her personality, which in my eyes makes her an even better person than I thought (I love that she answered honestly to Katy Perry's question). But I would love to have a conversation with her about her music.
