"Runaway" didn't make much of an impression when first released, but years later it won me over. Watching her perform it live just added something extra. A little bit depressing I could have watched her at festivals back in the day, but chose other bands. Oh well, I was probably drunk and had fun 😉 I really like the acoustic/stripped versions of her songs. The Tiny Desk Concert is one that I often go back to, and the Red Bull Sessions version of "Warrior" as well. One of my favorites from her last album is "A Dangerous Thing", and I've watched the PNC Live Studio version of that more than once. The harmonies...

I’ve missed plenty of great artists at festivals because I hadn’t hear of them at the time. It’s hard to look back on haha.

This could have just been at a typical Norwegian vorspiel, drinking some beers at home before heading out. And then one of them saying "lets do Runaway"! And then, magic.

I saw your reaction back in the day, but it was interesting watching it again, at the end of Aurora week, to see how it all started. Cool to have experienced this journey with you. 🤟

Yeah! Quite right! That was the first time I saw her perform live. Unreal. Rabbit hole since then haha.

It is a beautiful performance, and I think this was the 3rd last performance/song with "Silja Sol" before she left to pursue her own career. After this she was in 1 song (The Seed) for National Geographic Earth Day in April 2021, and 1 more performance of Runaway in May 2021 on Aurora's main channel as well. During this time Feb to May 2021 Aurora's management was pushing her to release lots of "Runaway" content on youtube and tiktok (like 16 videos and at least 1 live stream with at least parts of the song), because Runaway was going viral due to a tiktok meme. Runaway entered top20 world wide on Spotify's list as a 6 year old song, and hit like 2.7 million streams per day at the peak. The Runaway music video just passed 500M views like yesterday or a few days ago 🙂

I'm pretty sure, that the Management didn't forced Aurora to release so many 'Runaway' versions on KZread, because Aurora does not publish anything on her channel herself. It's all done by her management and most of these publications are simply copies of the original audio with different thumbnails (that's maybe one of the reasons, why so many of these 'uploads' had deactivated comment sections and not many views) and I have my doubt, that Aurora even noticed, that they exist. There are only a few 'Runaway' versions, Aurora made herself ( like this acoustic version) for this occasion. Also 'her' comments on the 'community tab' of her channel are (as far as I've seen) copies from other 'social media' and most of them are focused on the 'business side'. I couldn't blame her or even her management for that, because today it's practically impossible to be active on all these different platforms and have a real (private and professional) life beside this at the same time.

Check out this podcast about how Runaway went viral with Eng Subs: youtu . be / SJSiidpwbuw I don't think she was "forced", but heavily encouraged / pushed to do it. Most of her tiktok videos from that period have snippets of Runaway in them. And on her youtube channel they released this acoustic performance Feb 11th, then on Apr 16: Runway Guitar version + Runaway piano version + Runaway audio, and then on May 7th: Runaway Lvl.2 audio + "Runaway TikTok fan edition", and then May 18th another Runaway live performance, the last song "Silja Sol" was in. They would not release that many videos of a 6 year old song, if they were not trying to push that already started viral hit.

I am very happy to have seen this wonderful reaction. I got all five A's in a row. I can't wait to see the next two to come. You know, I think you easily seem to spend 6 months on all her videos. Especially if you're doubling up on different versions. At this point, why don't you do a reac on her HAIK live concert? It's almost an hour, but you did the KEXP concert, right? :) :) And I promise you'll love it. But if you do this live concert, you should watch the report that precedes it. I know it's totally outside the scope of this channel and I imagine your time is more than precious. However, I think it's a great introduction to the concert. Very informative, and touching too.

Love watching your Aurora reactions! You need to watch the live NRK performance of A Different Kind Of Human. It's a beautiful performance and one of my favourites of hers but it seems to get neglected by most reaction channels. It's particularly emotional as Silja Sol's (the back up vocalist that was in this video) mum died not long before it and you can see Aurora get a bit choked up at one point. I hope you react to it someday :)

This video was recorded in her living room. I think it was during the pandemic.

I've now combined all my Aurora reactions in one playlist, and it's linked in my channel's home page. Unfortunately, I can't move the actual videos over in a transfer. Perhaps KZread might add this functionality in future, but it's currently not possible.

I absolutely adore Aurora, but I think Silja stole the show a bit in this performance. A lot of time Silja vocals are set further back in the mix, but here they are more prominent. Their voices are so perfect together. I hope they still collaborate occasionally in the future.

I love this. My favorite acoustic performance of hers is Queendom at Loustic Sessions. It's soothing, and stunning, just as this one was. I do recommend watching that, even if you don't record it. :]

Corona recording at home

She seemed bored to death in this performance. Auto pilot singing. I think she was told to do this performance by her labels just because Runaway got a second life on that Chinese government controled spy social media during the pandemic. In general most of her performances during the pandemic don't reach up to her normal capacity. She doesn't like to sing or practice singing without a live audience that needs her music.
