Aurora DSP Rhino is just weird
Today I'm checking out Aurora DSP Rhino and the layout of this one is SUPER weird.

The dial in the center definitely sounds like an octaver. Their bass plugin Mammoth has a dial in the center that adds “secret sauce” to make the bass sound better, odd that they’d choose to put an octaver in the same place
Some pretty good sounds in that plugin. I thought the weird thing in the middle adjusted how many goats you could sacrifice when playing in drop-C, but an octaver seems a lot more practical and likely🤘 Legend!

This actually looks really neat. It makes me feel like... actually your comment at around 8:40 nails it for me. This is the same gripe I have with REAPER stock plugs. Even just some skins with stepped controls would alleviate this for me, even though the way Rhino/REAPER does it is probably more functional... That elevated preset I'd be able to find a use for, I reckon. Not sure I'd use it as a main rhythm (but you could?) but it piqued my interest when I heard it. Rhino head sounds like octaver or multivoicer or something like that? Weird that its a one-knob when everything else has more in-depth controls.

I had to check which bit, and yeah those sliders/knobs are weird. I saw St Rock just brought out amperium which is kind of like an android users/nerds budget version of an axefx modelling (way too many options under the hood but kind of cool to expose them to users). As well as their version of tonex/NAM captures all in the one pedal…. But they use these exact same slider/knobs all over their app…. Very not good
I thought that dial in the middle was a depth control? Super strange to have that dead centre...

I’m pretty sure it’s a +/- octaver. I only saw it on comments on other videos and that sort of made sense, super weird 🤣
I don't get why you think it's weird? And for gods sake lower the drums in you mix! Guitars sound perfectly fine.
