Loved how he defined a true watch collector, binge buying all the latest unatainable over retailed Steel Rolexes and couple Royal Oaks will not make you a watch collector, it will just make you remember that you are a rich man who can buy watches and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Very good definition of 'collectors'. Many rich people think they are collector when they have 15 Rolex, 10 Patek and 17 AP. But they are not!
Based on provenance alone, his collection will be worth a ton someday.

For a man that loves watches this much he sure doesn’t seem to wear them much in videos.
Is one a collector at 100 pieces? 200? I agree with the maestro, it depends on the behavior. I am a collector at 81 pieces, in observations of the mantra, “A collector buys, but never sells.”

In my opinion that statement is not always true. Some collectors fund the hobby by selling, reluctantly! I apply the thought" I can not afford it, how can I get it" Not "I can not afford it so I can not have it"

@@schniggs2011 I collect antique corkscrews and that is how I have built my collection. www.corkscrewappraisals.com but I have a few watches and love them and have never sold one of them but I still feel I am a corkscrew and watch collector along with other bits!
