I still love this band and song, over 20 years later. A band that never- in my estimation- lowered their standards. The quality level of writing, performance and production has remained high throughout their career. And a band like this maintaining the same line up (with the sad exception of Rob Dawson on keys -RIP) from the beginning should be commended. Rare as hens' teeth. Go well, lads. X

Better song than One Crowded Hour. Sweet haunting melancholic perfection.

Back here again. Not sure it is better than One Crowded Hour, but that's because my appreciation of One Crowded Hour has grown. This is still beautiful.

Next level band. Masterful simplicity arrangements and sonic textures. Sum of the parts is greater than the whole band for sure.

No reason why this shouldn't have been as big as One Crowded Hour. Both great songs. All this song needed was a spot on Brother & Sisters, or some such stuff...

I saw them play at the corner hotel in Richmond, Melbourne many many years ago, just after the release of Sunset Studies. They were incredible live. I cried watching these guys perform. No band has ever impacted me quite like these guys have. I saw Glenn one day in the city( Melbourne) in Myer, the Lingerie department. He was just Christmas shopping and walking through. He looked right at me and at the time I had a heroin habit, not that anyone would ever be able to tell, but I was lacking in confidence so I didn’t say anything. I would have told him just how much I loved his music. I’ve never tired of their music in 20 years.

He's not in this video, he wasn't with Augie yet when this was first released, he joined them a bit before they begun recording Sunset Studies. I believe that There Is No Such Place is the only Augie video he appears in. And you are right, he is very sadly missed. I went to High School with him back in Wangaratta, he was the year below me but we hung out in the same group. Spent many good times with Rob and Stef and Glenn in Faraday St in Carlton where they all shared the place. Miss him.

The ep was called Waltz. Dig it out. Moth Ball and Rich Girl are well worth the trouble.
