Audio Book "Deliverance" Written and read by James Dickey 1986

Ойын-сауық

(Abridged) James Dickey's best-selling novel is the story of four businessmen who decide to get away from their dull suburban existence for a testing all-male adventure, and so equipped with guitar, beer and bow and arrows, they set out for a weekend of canoeing down a wild and remote Georgia river.
However, the white waters of the river's rapids soon pale in significance as the men find themselves swept as well into a real life and death struggle against primitive and violent mountain men in the heart of the American wilderness.
James Dickey's gripping adventure, which was filmed in 1972, is read by the author himself.
The majority of these audiobooks, which were converted from audio cassette tapes into digital Mp3 files are over 30 years old. Some of the cassette tapes had to be taken apart and spliced back together, which can be a very delicate procedure. Just a little something I thought I would do so I could salvage these particular works and share these with others before the tapes and tape players deteriorated completely and before the world of analog recording becomes completely obsolete. Most are not true books because they are abridgements. When I first started collecting these audiobooks, unabridged books on tape were either very rare or extremely costly. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit.

This is one heck of a story. Thanks. A dark tale but beautifully read. So much atmosphere. Felt I was riding the river and rapids too with the 4 men.
