🔥Compare other budget interfaces • 7 Audio Interfaces for...
Audient Evo (US Sweetwater) imp.i114863.net/rMgYR
Audient Evo (Amazon paid link) geni.us/BzSdBp
In this video I review the Audio Evo 4. The Audient Evo 4 is part of a new line of interfaces by Audien and will include an Evo 8 as well. This interface features 2 ins and 2 outs as phantom power, and some really cool features like Smart Gain! Smart Gain sets the gain of your input channel automatically so that you never clip. In this video I test the interface with guitars, vocals, headphones, and I compare the sound to some other popular interfaces like Focusrite, Personus, and Native Instruments.

    Not really. I want a portable interface 2 in, 2 out (balanced and not balanced) and that is connected using USB-C!! .... Also, I want to see Sanjay being mad at something, and grab a bad interface and trow it out the closed window yelling and cursing, and breaking things. 👍

    @@SanjayC Thank you for the review, one of the issues I have right now is that iam recently trying to buy either the beyerdynamic dt770 pro or dt990 pro now the thing is iam really confused about this is which one of is better In regards detailed sound , now I have often heard in many reviews that dt990 s has very sharp highs which is often too bright and the lower ends are not definitive similarly the dt770 pro has very good low end frequency response as compare to the dt990 pro , I do have a samson sr850 which is like budget bang for open back so my mind was already settled on the dt 770pro because it is closed back , but iam still confused what should I buy I also tried to watch your other video in which you reviewed other headphone monitors but it's is still a predaciment for me . Now as you know the sound signature of both of the headphones which one would you recommend to me ? Keeping in mind I have a samson sr850 And finally as iam getting 250ohms headphone should I get a headphone amp as well preferably a behringer hm400 ? , I tried contacting Audient and asked them regarding the impedance and they have said it should work fine but iam still looking for second opinions . Your reply and recccomendation will be very helpful to me . Thank you 😊 P.S- I also ordered the arturia minilab mk2 after your recommendations

  • @lachlanrussell18

    @lachlanrussell18

    4 жыл бұрын

    ehh, I’m not thinking I would. It’s doing one of two things; it’s changing the gain as I play, which Is damaging the signal and if I wanted volume adjustments, I would much prefer to do that myself, or, it’s just setting the gain (which is what it seems like it’s doing) which not only takes barely any time, but with how many buttons you’ve gotta press, seems like way too much effort for nothing I can’t do by turning the knob myself. Also, if I can get musically nerdy briefly, with the bit depth that digital workspaces record with, having the gain slightly too low is absolutely not a problem. If you’re not peaking and you can see the waveform in your daw, you’re almost perfectly set to go. The volume of the actual audio clip can be set after, without losing any detail. So, I honestly think it’s not doing much of anything. I doubt I’d use it, and I kinda question why they put effort into designing it.

    @@SanjayC , thanks for your reply. I know that they can't plug into audio interfaces directly. That much is clear just looking at the I/O of every product. My question was, can a USB mic be plugged in (adapted) to work with an audio interface? I know most USB mic's contain their own "sound cards" to allow them to be plugged directly into a computer, but I have a number of excellent USB mics, and was just wondering if it was possible to use them with an interface, to allow me to take advantage of the features of the interface.

    currently have a Focusrite Solo 3rd Gen and when I go live on FB or just record in Quicktime the sound only comes out the left side. I understand that this happens due to the Focusrite Solo considers input 1 (XLR) to be the left channel and the other input (1/4 inch) to be the right channel. Now this would be an easy fix in post with any DAW because I can render the final output in Mono but because podcasts shows are all live and I dont have the option to fix in post. Therefor every time I go live on Facebook I get stuck with the audio only coming out of the left side/channel as I only have the mic in input 1 (XLR). So my question is how do I get the output audio (from the Focusrite Solo) from my live show (on a Facebook live) to output on the right and left side? Currently when I go live on FB the audio only comes out from the left side

Of course this is not an entry level interface but I like to have extra inputs / outputs like MIDI for my keyboard. And being able to change the volume separately on each headphone connector is also very nice to have. And the Focusrite is all metal which to me feels very solid. Is a gain knob and looking at a VU really that difficult? Also, is this 32bit/384kHz, 24/96, or a potato? While it does prevent clipping, being too conservative on the gain initially will lead you to inadvertently boost your noise later. Remember that the name of the game is "signal-to-noise ratios".

    Actually when you first held it up it looked like a camera with the lens cap on. Lol. What you would need to test out the audient evo with a mic is to vary your voice modulation. Like if you said what you say and then say abundantly louder say "woohoo!" to see how it would surpress the gain in volume. The changing colors would be nice. Especially the color to represent the feature that your adjusting. This way you could edit quicker by color memorization. I guess it wouldn't go to red for clipping as it wouldn't never clip. But maybe the deepness or lack of the specific color to provide suggestions on the color of said levels. Maybe you can write the company about the idea and they'll add it to a newer model and present you with some other products as gratitude. 👍

    You should be able to drive 300 ohm with Evo 4 without additional Headphone AMP at loud level. But it has downside that headphone output has lowest impedance of 22 ohm and you should therefore use headphones that are at least 150 ohm or higher so that EVO4 won't color the tone of your headphones. Podcastage said he used Sennheiser HD650 (300 ohm) at loud level and Julian Kruse tested the Headphone output impedance.
