Audience Request - 'GOING TO THE RIVER' (Fats Domino)
Музыка
As requested by a KZread subscriber; here is a cover version of 'Going to the River' - a 1953 song written by Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew.
This is one of the very first 'Rock n Roll' songs that undoubtedly helped kick off this popular genre in the 1950's, of which Fats Domino was a pioneer, pre-dating his more well-known hits 'Ain't That A Shame' and 'Blueberry Hill'.
'Going to the River' is in the key of G, following a G-D-G-(G7)-C-G chord progression, as opposed to the more typical blues pattern of I-IV-V, which in this key would otherwise be G-C-D.
Thank you to @abloke8834 for suggesting this song, and introducing me to it - this was not a recording I had even heard before.
