There's one in Swampscott, MA where I grew up that used to say "WALK SIGNAL IS ON TO CROSS ROUTE 1A AT BURRILL AVENUE" and despite that the "Burrill" in "Burrill Street" is pronounced like barrel but with a short u instead of a short a, the pedestrian signal would pronounce it so the i in Burrill is a short i. Why do some of the audible pedestrian signals that say which street you are on mispronounce the street name? Also, does anybody remember Mae's Bakery that used to be at the intersection that has the pedestrian signal that I am talking about?

The audible pedestrian signals in Maryland here are supposed to say "wait!" when you click them but instead of it doing like those ones, it just beeps rapidly when you can cross the street. But in Pennsylvania it's rare to spot them.

Those soudns are put there for blind people like me who cant see to good and need help . I'm nearly blind but going blind my sight is not very good and its important to me that I hear these sounds and be able to cross the street safe with my sister I use a white cane to get around and not bump into stuff or fall .

I heard a lot of these interesting pedestrian noises. All except for the Canadian Melody one. The intersection near my house has pedestrain buttons that make this noise: 1:23. But the intersection next that one says: "Walk sign is on"

And when they malfunction you get to listen to a non-stop knocking tone all night long until they fix it until it breaks soon again.
