On the Audi TT misfires are common problems with coil packs.
This is very simple with just a couple of hand tools.
You need:
A coil pack removal tool. There are 2 styles depending on your car being a 1.8T or a 3.2V6.
An electrical connector disconnection tool.
To diagnose misfires, you need:
An OBD2 Code Reader

Great all round tutorial Andy. Great to see the diagnostic side fully explained with symptoms and how to diagnose them!

Thank you David. Hopefully I made the testing process straightforward. One thing I do want to cover is to show how to access coil pack 3 and 4 in more detail so people understand what additional components need to be removed to test these.

@@andycharger Definitely easy to follow testing and straightforward. Your diagnostic on coils packs 1 & 2 is much easier for sure. Coil packs 3 & 4 are more involved having to remove the N249 and all the rubber hoses (which run the risk of splitting and then they require replacing too). If you ever make a video on changing the rocker cover / camshaft gaskets (which will eventually leak due to age) then you have to take all the additional parts off to remove the rocker cover. That would be an ideal time to add an extension to this video whilst creating a new video. Keep up the great content and catch up sometime soon!

Great info Andy, I see I will need to get a couple of tools. Might be worth doing same vid for V6 owners.(firing sequence and position?) At least on V6 the Coil packs are accessible!

Thanks Si. Yes I do need to show how to disconnect a V6 coil pack as it connects slightly differently to the puller tool that a 1.8T car. There is a short video on firing sequence and coil pack numbering on my channel. Here is the link: kzread.infozrkMRuI7OeY

The app I use is called Car Scanner and the actual reader is linked on my OBD2 beginners guide video I believe. I’m just at the rink so can’t find it! 👍

Got P0036 that’s coming back whenever I tried to delete with OBD2, I don’t want to buy a new O2 sensor yet, but removing the coil pack & a new Fuse at 43, after plugging back, driving the car 20 minutes, OBD2 is now telling me no more P0036 and passed the smog check 😂too)* 225 BAM ‘appy again
