Audi TT 8J - Is it good for a roadtrip?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Let's have a look at the Audi TT. It's a sporty car that is a lot of fun to drive. But to test what it's really like, let's take it on a little roadtrip to the north coast of Northern Ireland.

I have the same car in white but not s line. I was one of the first people to drive a TT. I went to the factory in Bavaria c1998 I worked in advertising. I flew to Ireland to make some ads for the 5door A5 when that came out. I also put an A2 inside the London eye and drove the Quattro on a volcanic beach in Auckland. Happy days!
I think the TT has to be one of the most practical sports cars on the market. I managed to get a 46” tv in the back with the seats down without too much trouble. Also some 3 metre bamboo canes with a little bend :)

That's it's weak point in fact. Exotic cars should be impractical and used in special occasions. Practicality renders a car boring.
Such a soothing voice. The Bob Ross of car reviews
Excellent reviews, voice-over and soundtrack. I own a 2008 TT bought last year and enjoy seeing other people's opinion on the car. I totally agree with you. The 2nd gen is the sweet spot compared to the other 2. If I ever upgrade will be for a 2014 pre gen 3 model, TTS possibly. But for now mine is just perfect with just over 60K miles in meteor grey and cream leather interior. Light coloured leather makes it look classier IMO.

Fully agreed! Same here I also just got my 2008 TT last month and loving it and in the future will change to pre MK3 models
5:45 the caat hahahah
I own a mk3 and i must say that i like the car way more than the second gen. Interior is modern but also simple, love the fact that there is no infotainment and the matrix led lights are just magical. Love the mk3!
I have to disagree a little my wife fits in the back perfectly and she has arms and legs her 4”11 frame has plenty of head room lol ..... ps the passenger window does go fully down you just need to do a window reset it’s either gone out of sync or some work has been done it’s a simple fix. Great video and lovely views
brits just always have the best voiceovers
Great review, really enjoyed it.
Thanks for the video. The demonstration of the rear seats was very useful. I'd read rear room was bad but wow.
I know this guy as l have a TR6 and seen his reviews..now l m looking for a TT.and he pops up again!
great vid love doing bits to the Audi tt mk2
Great review!
Picking up my 2nd generation TTS Cab this week, petrol manual black edition. This is my 2nd TT Cab , I've had the 1.8t now changing it for one with an asbo 😂👌 if you love driving and have a medium budget get a TT. Great vid.
I have Audi tts 2011, only down side lack of space in the back anyone above 5ft 6 will have issues, but overall one of the best sports cars, just the right amount of power for uk roads, not ridiculously fast but fast enough to give you a smile every time you decide to floor it, zipping in out of traffic in hurry its probably the best thing ive driven very few cars will keep up.

do you really expect a "sports car" to fit 4 adults?

@@haakn Most adults are above 5f 6 ....if your 2 adults in rear are 5ft 6 and below you will be ok.

@@returnofthestrangers that is exactly what i said. it is not a practical family car, it is a sports car. why do you expect it to seat 4 adults?
Great video! Me and my son are soon doing a 1400 mile road trip from Derby around north Scotland and home again in my mk2 3.2, planning on 5 days to do it.
What a great review, quite unique in its approach 👍
love that video thank you for rewiew
I own the roadster 8JS and it's good. The electric hood mechanism went but I still can lower it manually, not I want to because doing so shreds certain corners of the canvas. The front bumper is too low I keep hitting curbs and speed humps, it rattles due to flex, the ipod connectivity is useless, the s tronic works great but the previous owner replaced the entire gearbox, there's a small oil leak I guess from one of the covers gaskets, the magride shocks all went very early and were replaced with normal shocks triggering warning light, the warning in turn doesn't allow disabling traction control or using cruise control. Other than that, it goes well 😂
I've owned one since 2013... love it... fantastic car... *ps please change or check your CAM Follower around 15k kms...
you are either 8 foot tall or that is a scaled down audi TT - great video
Great video. I completely agree that the MK2 TT is the best designed. It has the curves of the MK1, but better proportioned & none of the ugly angles of the non discript MK3.
big work
Nice👍🏻
I enjoyed my 3.2 8J mk2 in 2010 (last 3.2 engine) - snowboard trips with no passengers in the back. Elegant everyday, silent enough, a joy to walk up to. I'd have made it a tad longer to have more leg space at least for kids in the back and normal adults in the front. Also, more silence insulation would have been nice. Wide outside, not large inside. Just bought another one recently out of nostaligia (mine was stolen in 2013). I wouldn't want another engine, the one in this video is way too noisy, probably a 2.0 turbo with no all-wheel-drive Today I have to baby seats and out akita in the boot :-) good for kindergarden and office runs. Both my windows went down all the way, an issue with this particular one?
Is a 2008 tt 2.0 coupe a sweet spots??
very good video and demo of the car. understand why you want to cover the plate but make it look bit more classy lol great work otherwise! never seen anyone sit in the back with the boot open!

Yes l agree the number plate covering wasn't the best😆
🔥🔥🔥
Think about the weight saving you could do by taking the rear seats out
All good but would’ve been more useful if you’d shown ALL variations of the load area.
Thinking about picking up this generation of TT's. Are the DSG's best avoided due to mechatronic unit failure?

Check history to see if it's had timing belt changes. Also if it's the S Tronic auto, check that's had oil changes too.
eat oil?
Whats is your height?
Wait, I thought you were German. Are you from the UK or from Germany?
Yeah try getting your cases in a porche
Are you Harry Maguire's brother?, you guys look alike.
Dont judge for havin torso only friends! Or no friends at all
why would you go to downhill beach with your tt? lol
The 3rd gen is by far the best looking, that 2nd gen looks like it has droopy eyelids and is not at all attractive. The 1st gen is much better looking than that.
