Thomas. A suggestion that I don't see any presenter doing. In the USA, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, IIHS, tested headlight performance on a number of new cars and SUVs. I am not asking to do a full test. Instead, a point of view of headlight illuminations. Many people buy cars and fail to look at this, then to find out at night that they are unable to see. As for me, I have turned down ultra premium vehicles due to inadequate headlight illumination. Cheers, Serge Celcis Jr MSM

I bought the A4 Avant S-Line with 190 hp this year. The S4 is amazing, but the A4 with 190 hp is also very fast, but also silent and smooth. The new A4 is a real pleasure to drive. Thanks for your very good videos, Thomas! That helps a lot!

Another wonderful review of a fantastic car, Thomas. I like your style, focusing on the car, with a lot of information for the consumer with elegance and good humour. Incredible the attention to details and the thought put in this car, like the adjust of height of the back door. Awesome silence in the cockpit, clearly shown by you. A dream car indeed. Very thorough review Thomas, great work! I wouldn't choose that colour myself, and it certainly will look better on summer tyres with bigger wheels.

Great review Thomas, like always Bruder! And very beautiful car indeed, ext. & int. What impresses me always and I like it a lot, is the way Porsche-Audi-VW cars are growing, on the shape side design, through the years! A way like how a beautiful baby girl is growing year after year, her beauty improves body & soul with every year, yet we can recognize her at first sight she is the same person, yet with more and more wows! Happy time everyone! :))

Love this car - getting the S4 Avant in the same colour later this year, with adaptive suspension and sports diff (and of course the towbar) - think it is the perfect balance for a family car and a Dad staring at turning 40 in a couple of years :-)

I realize I am getting to some of these reviews a bit late, but I am so enjoying catching up on Autogefühl videos! Thomas is giving a very thorough overview and I find that some of my opinions about my favorite cars are changing, which I suppose can be good. If I had to choose between the estate and sedan I would definitely choose the estate. I grew up with and have driven 'wagons' most of my life. Also I think the side profile of this vehicle is quite attractive... though I'm not overly excited about Audi front grill/lights and rear aesthetics. They are understated and I appreciate that, but to me Mercedes has a true vision of automotive grace and power combined. I am however thrilled with the Audi interior processing and I almost wish Audi and Mercedes could team up, at least with regard to the infotainment system and some of the haptic functions as well as climate control layout. Overall, a very beautiful vehicle and a satisfying experience. Thank you Thomas!

This may be 2 years old, but the S4 is a superb car

An excellent car. Providing good coverage of the vehicles, potential also greatly appreciated. All salient features properly highlighted and also good to see the vehicle being pushed to the limit by a happy test driver. Thomas had you considered testing these vehicles at maximum loads, i.e. complete with passengers and luggage or perhaps it’s more convenient to take the manufacturers specifications. Normally one would expect a complete change of characteristics leading to new safety concerns at maximum loads?

thanks m8 ! Usually heavy load does not change much, I did some tests on a test track with other vehicles where a fridge was loaded in the car, you literally dont feel too much difference :)

Just about to change my A6 BiTDI for an new S4 Avant. Really looking forward to it. Expecting to pay more at the pumps though :-(

I have the S5, with Apple CarPlay - when I change from CarPlay (music, for example) to the GPS/Sat Nav, my music doesn't stop. It's really well integrated. It doesn't work that well with my Android device yet, though.

Perfect presentation like expected , with very clever advices ! By the way , this is the dream car of my wife , she wants one and this new model looks very nice 😉

another great review AG (autogefuhl) crew :D I have several questions: - there is more "smoke" coming out of the right exhaust pipes, are the biased? - When will you be able to do a review of the new BMW 5series & the new Peugeot 3008 - why are smaller engines not more efficient ? they have less fuel in them ( 4cilinders vs 6 cilinder) Cheers A faithfull viewer

the smoke is mostly water as it was cold and the air condensed. New 5-Series in december, new 3008 probably January. The smaller engines have to run at higher rpm to reach same power

MLB has been recently newly created with this A4 as the first and reference model. All Audis up to new Q7 are on this new MLB. So I'd be surprised if Audi would switch to MQB

Some Detroit auto analysts reported German manufacturers are considering increasing some engine displacements in order to comply with future "real world" fuel consumption and emission regulations. As you rightly have said, the smaller turbo engines, for example, may prove to lab standards but fail miserably in real world driving. I agree as I experience this with my wife's small displacement turbo in her car. Have you heard any such news in your country?? Ciao!

My S4 should arrive in Junuary, so your videos help me a lot to kill the waiting time ^^ My car will be a Misano Rot sedan. I would have loved an Avant version, but we won't have it in Canada. Also, we don't have options for the seats. Canadian S4s all come with the S sport seats as standard equipment, so I hope I won't kill my back with them. Also, danke viel für die Videos!

Thomas I am from eastern Europe so I know very well how solid these cars are :) heck it was our family car more than 10 years ago, and it still runs great, body is still in great shape. And still there plenty of them rolling happily in the streets here.

This is the car I really wanted, but I had to settle on my 2018 S3.

I wanted so badly the new S4 but, with all the options I like, it was too expensive for me. That's why I took the 252HP almost full options and fitted an ABT stage 1 which brings 302HP here in Switzerland (330HP elsewhere) and I'm happy with it... Still, when I hear that V6 engine exhaust sound... :-)

lol the grey Golf around 29 min, just had to get in front while you are driving at the speed limit he HAS to be in front. Then watch him creep at the lights lol, just like in UK.

I've said this before - apart from the great car-enthusiast detail you get with these Full Reviews, and the professional and courteous presenter, what's also great is that with Autogefuhl, in the editing, Thomas seems to leave in so many of these little driving details...! I love the SEAT Leon cupra, but if i had a little extra cash, Id go for the S4.

Funny that they still put those stickers on for the maximum speed with the winter tires (to the left of the light switch). Nowadays you can set the speed in the car system which is much nicer in my opinion.

You have to use winter tyres? What happens to the summer tyres, do you need to keep a spare set of wheels?

thecitysurfer Yes, on "alpin" countries you usually have the summer wheels and winter wheels which are usually smaller. I have 19" summer and 17" winter.

thecitysurfer if you live in a country where the climate doesn't change that much over the year, it makes sense... or just buy all seasons, they're "legal" in Germany too

Does it run on E95 (Super) or E98 (Super+)? And yes, we enjoy the accelerations and the ride with you. Great review!

misku probably 98 octane... it's a sporty turbo engine, so you should run it on E98

danI43541 Actually, I've checked and it runs on regular E95, which is nice as it will be easier to gain more power when tuning it to E98.

danI43541 You can save some money and just use 95. The engine is adapted to this kind of fuel, so 98 or 102 won't give you any more punch, unless you'll tune it to those.

Or S4? Its a far better looking car than the 5 Sportback I think and virtually identical in all but the shape/hatch... Still no S5, S4 or S4 Avant in UK to test, so been watching these reviews with interest. I'm a B8 S5 Coupe owner with a 6 year old boy (who was 1 when i bought the S5).. I haven't quite fallen in love with the new coupe though undoubtedly a superior car. Very confused which new S to buy.. 4, 4 Avant or to hell with the practicality and another 5 coupe...

Looks brutal in white or black

The RS6 Avant is ace looking, but I think I prefer the saloon in the S4.

well that doesnt need to be connected, only if some beverages are produced using shredded animals (like quite often wine is filtered by gelatine, therefore there are offers for vegan wines...)

I really don't like the screen monitor sticking out on any car . I'm disappointed in Audi .I spent a lot of time with Audi UK Press cars . It was difficult trying to keep my opinion to myself with the Higher profile people . Not mentioning names Jeremy Clarkson, Now I am a free bird !! Not keen on the Blue Colour in the S4 , It doesn't look sporty enough .

The big question though is this: S4 or S5?

Brad_0 the S5 might be a little more sportier because of the weight but the differences are soooo small, it's mostly the looks which differ the cars

winter tyres + wet road + all-wheel-drive = pretty normal characteristic indeed
