I want to change the route options to include "Tolls/Motorways" for some reason I can't change it (as it was initially set to exclude "Tolls"). Is there an easy way to do it?

Ok, so you have to go to Nav -> Settings - > Route - >Route Criteria and then choose with tolls and motorways

Hello 👋, well the Q3 can be equipped with 2 variations of the MMI navigation system. The better and more expensive has a hard drive based memory for the navigation (and 3D building and so on) you can not retrofit this option. The second system uses SD cards to load the map data. You can probably purchase or somehow download it from internet if you are skilled enough. But dealer can sell you a 2018 SD card specially for Q3 System

Hi Sam, I have an Audi Q3 (2017). Looks just like the one in this video. The MMI display shows all the options. While the radio & bluetooth works just fine, the navigation and option to play music doesn't work. No SD card is in the slots as well. Which SD card am I supposed to plug in? should I have something in the SD card? should it be from Audi? they said it would cost 400$ for the SD card.

I know this is older video, but question? I have Q3 and now I’m starting to get the “ is key in car ?” While I’m driving down the road. Called Audi said battery in remote needs changed. I stopped in and had them replace battery. Plus , seeing as I had only one key a few months prior I had a brand new key fob made. Even with this key and even with both key fobs in car I’m still getting the “is key in car” as I’m driving. It will go out eventually, but also it will come back.... any ideas? Thank you for time ....

Hi 😄. Well it has happened to me as well. But simple battery replacement was in my case enough to fix this issue. If you have long term problems, I guess the issue is with the receiver of the signal from the key in your Q3. When the message appears put the key in near proximity to the steering column, and let me know if it has helped. Sam

Thank you for responding to my question. As for trying the key fob on the side of the steering column doesn’t go away. At least it doesn’t go away any faster then if I just leave the keys in my pocket or cup holder. I guess I have no choice but to take it in ,as I too was thinking that it has to be on the car side of the problem if the keys are good.... thank you again for your time.

Hi, this vehicle has upgraded Audi Premium (600€) sound, however you can also choose an even more expensive Bose Surround sound. The standard system has 6 speakers the upgraded one has 12 and Bose 14 and 475W. If I'd configure the vehicle once more, I would still go for the premium Audi sound, while it offers decent base as well as good high and lows. No unfortunately this gen of Q3 doesn't support CarPlay, nor Android Auto. The new one does, however both. Hope this helps, have a great day and if you have any further questions let me know 🙂

Yes you can add a module which gives you even wireless carplay. There are many videos here on youtube. It involved installing a small device behind the glove compartment and making some small additional wiring. I got it done last fall and couldn't be happier!

How do you mean? You simply plug in and then choose the Media source as Auxiliary on the MMI. Did this help? 😀

2016 Q3 Premium Plus. Navigation was not enabled. And I don't see where I could download the firmware update. The Software Version, which is regarded as a Train version, is rmc_nar_p16342. Where could I get this update?

Hi Sam, just a simple question.My son got a Q3, 2014. production. As we can see there is bluetooth installed in MMI, but NAV is not available. Is it enough to purchase SD card and simply to insert or we have to go to AUDI car center to make some software changes? Thanks in advance

Hi, yes I think you should be good with an SD card. They best way would be to borrow one from someone's else Q3 to make sure it's functioning 😄. One more question is, if you have these thicker bezels as I in the video or thinner ones.

Hi, the screen in Q3 is only manually foldable, so there is no button 😐 maybe you've confused it with the A3

Hi Sam, in our Q3, the volume knob function in the middle seems to be broken as the knob falls in (or comes out) and the wire is also disconnected. How can I get this repaired so that firstly, the wire is reattached and secondly, the knob sits in place? Would I need to re-solder the wire first? Would I need to replace any parts? Thank you.

Hi. Well that is a rather unfortunate situation. I would love to give you some useful advice on how to repair that problem, however I have absolutely no experience with knobs falling of. I have seen only Q7 MMI cut in half, but that was for demo purposes only, and it looked complex. Back to Q3 knob. I would take out the whole MMI controlling unit, probably someone has done a video on that to make the repair a bit easier to get to. But after that no clue on how to help. Ifyou are an electrical engineer (I'm studying mechanical) you would be able to resolve this issue, but trying and potentially buying some unit that has functional wheel could help, other than that only service center is the last resort. Anyway good luck, let me know how did you manage this situation. Sam

Hi I’ve Audi q3 2018. I imported music from the sd card to jukebox. But after I modified song names of the album , deleted the same album from jukebox, I imported the same album , it won’t recognize the new names and still playing from cache the old songs. Anyway to clear out cache?

Hello. Well, what kind of noise? Is it mechanical, electric, or on some surface? Where is it coming from? It is extremely difficult to have a proper diagnostic without knowing detail.

How do you mean spottily. As an app it is unfortunately it is not possible. But when you connect phone on Bluetooth and play through Spotify than it will work.

If u don't have nav, what menu do you leave it in? I find the display FM radio list looks stupid on there lol.

Hi. You have to set the button to forward/ move to another station in the menu. Than it will skip around 30 seconds in podcast or music.

Than unfortunately I suspect it has not been selected as an option when the vehicle was configured. Did you connect before?

Unfortunately not 😞. There is no easy way to retrofit the Bluetooth modem and implementing it into MMI.

Hi, well in the Bluetooth Menu it should having a name menu, if you click on it if should allow you to change. If not I'm afraid it is not possible.

There were two options for navigation system. One was build-in on a hard-drive inside of the vehicle and that is when you have the options of Audi connect. In my case (maybe yours as well) it is in a SD card that is inserted below the CD player. If you have the navigation running but no online services, than perhaps something is wrong with your SIM card or data plan. Or something completely else is going on. If you live in Slovakia 🇸🇰 we could meet, otherwise it is difficult for me to say what the issue might be 🤔
