Great review, thank you! Picked up mine yesterday and it is fantastic!! You had one of the most informative reviews compared to others. The car is very luxurious and plenty of power for urban driving for a 1 litre plus turbo, where I will be clocking most of my KM. The virtual cockpit is a game changer when accompanied with the apple car play. A good friend who has an RS3 sat in it and couldn't stop commenting how awesome it looks..!

I have a question when the tax changes in 2017 how is it going to affect people by paying £40000 outright to having something on PCP as on PCP you would normally change car before you got to the £40000 limit ?

Is the sports suspension really that bad?

Not in the same class, so you decide according to the budget, if money is no issue then the Audi is definitely the better choice.

a 1 litre audi think of the size of the car slightly bigger engine than a 850cc original mini

In europe its 2000 to 2500 euro option! cant see many A3 buyers opting it.

Amazing that one litre engines are now driving posh cars and are so refined! I like the A3, but I think I'd probably still go for the Golf - it's very smart and carries rear passengers in more comfort.

Audi really make some of the best all-around cars out there. vorsprung durch technik 👍🏼

air911cooled okay have you tried both, of you Did you would not say that, yes it's a similar platform however the Audi has practically a whole different design and the parts aren't even shared that much for things that's we can see in the interior. I'm not a VW fanboy I just know the truth and won't lie because I like BMW more

Crawl back to your hole. While I may only be 19 I still have owned a couple of cars and driven a shit ton of different brands and as an all around package Audi wins. The interior quality isn't matched by any of their competitors and the exterior design is in my opinion amazing (looks is of course subjective). They also have fantastic driving capabilities and they are reasonably reliable. One minus being the fact that they are quite expensive to repair. The reasons I stated above is the reasons I just bought myself a brand new A5 Sportback, best car I've ever driven!

The point is Audi do not make these cars they are under the umbrella of VW so ultimately it's VW making these cars sticking on Audi badges and essentially apart from differences in styling and interior you are driving a VW be it a more expensive one!

joako2706 You should test drive one! It weighs only 1150kg and has the same torque figure as a [heavier] 2002 A3 1.8T 150PS I once drove. It is arguably the most fun to drive of the non-performance variants.

Imran Mohammed I have a 1.0TFSI A3 and it will easily do its 128mph top speed without a fuss. What more could you need on the road? There's nothing else out there that's as well equipped and refined or has a better performance/economy balance for the money.

I have a seat Ibiza that does 0-60 in 13 seconds and it feels fine on the motorway. As did my Ford KA and Skoda Citigo although they were quite noisy.

Kira Anastasia There aren't many cars you can buy new these days that can't handle the odd motorway jaunt. My previous car was a 2015 Ibiza 1.4 and though it was a little noisy, it was perfectly happy zipping up and down motorways at 80+

It's to do with emission regulations imposed by governments across the world. Hence the reason why some the greatest performance cars such as Porsche BMW M cars and Ferrari are downsizing and turbo charging engines. Its a real shame but it's reality.

Supcharged nokia and blackberry laughed when apple and google announced they would enter the mobile market. look at the facts. these are experts in 'software'. Tesla is a software company and has received huge investment from the founders of google. the ceo of Amazon has also stated that the traditional car industry will face huge job losses as they do not have the ability and software expertise to combine software with hardware. Apple is investing billions in driver-less car technology.

Is it just me or is this review only telling us about all the good bits? No negatives? Hmmm........not sure but is Audi paying for this review? My brother drove one for a while and said the front seats are not very comfortable over long distances and suffers from a little too much tyre noise. For me personally it just looks so boring and non descript.....but then I guess you only want the badge.
