Hi, I am in South Africa, how do I go about getting one?

Can you use the existing car microphone or do you need to route a new one ?

I'd like to know if this fits my car ? I have an A1 with RMC, aux in slot next to the cigarette lighter. My car has no multi-function steering wheel ? AFAIK I can still control the interface using the MMI controls, but what about voice control ? I am wondering if the built-in car's mic is part of the multi-function steering wheel. Thanks.

You may consider upgrade your steering wheel which will be more convenient. You can use siri with touch screen control or just saying "hey siri".

Btw, how do I access to the interface/app if I dont have the multi-function steering wheel, with the navigation key from the MMI ?

Hi Gaston. You will need to long press the touch screen to exit and enter CarPlay. We have a newer generation model that supports wireless CarPlay here. unique-ad.co.uk/product/audi-a1-carplay-retrofit-kit-installation-available/

The touch overlay is included in the pack if you select "Audi Multimedia" type in the drop down menu. As the touch overlay doesn't work for MMI high type of head unit. The product shown in the video is our old module. The new module is available here unique-ad.co.uk/product/audi-q3-2011-carplay-retrofit-kit/

Hi, this is a really detailed video and very easy to follow thank you. I’ve just done the install and cannot get apple CarPlay to start even with the long press on the steering wheel. Car is a 2010 Audi A1. Is there a way to troubleshoot? I’ve double checked all connections.

Hello there. Our current generation of CarPlay supports wireless connection via wifi and Bluetooth. You don't need to use the USB port unless for the purpose of watching videos or software updates. So you can just hide the port wherever you prefer. No drilling is required.

Hello Vishal. The touch overlay is optional to fit. You can choose not to fit the touch overlay then the installation process is quicker and simpler. It's fully plug and play so shouldn't affect warranty.
