Great job , I enjoy your thorough torque procedure, last timing belt i did was on a 2.0 Cjaa tdi and i used all new bolts, from what I understand no need to do this but I did anyway. I am assuming it is ok to reuse torque to yield bolts on vag engines?

Hi. Have you experience with changing the high pressure fuel pump. Can it be changed from the top without removing the engine or the gearbox. And removing from the top will it affect the timing. Thanks

I think John means these later 3.0tdi engines (four letter engine code) where the commonrail pump is located in the back of the engine and driven by chain? It has its own chain drive and it doesn't affect the engines other chains.

Looks like a similar chain configuration on all of Audi's big engines. Nauseatingly complex!

No see 176kw on põhimõtteliselt sama siiski nagu 165 ja 171kw. Mingid väikesed muudatused ainult. Uuema tüübi mootor pandi c7 peale

And I usually only remove the gearbox. In this case, only the engine was brought to me, without the car.

Hi, nice work! But you are the first one who remove the transmission in stead of the engine. How many hours is that !? In The Netherlands were i live, they remove allways the engine (that's why the specialist asks 4000 eu and the Audi dealer 7000,- )!!

Removing the gearbox takes me 1.5 hours. all work with spare parts goes for 1400 eur. Come visit Estonia and I'll replace the chain. Cars from Finland, Sweden and Norway have come to me

@@differ1 BIZAR ! First i got 2012 BIT , Rattle Chains !!! Buy another one... Rattle Chains.... Then no more BITurbo, buy a newer model, A6 3.0Tdi V6 Quattro Avant from 2016, and it has moved to the garage .. because: ..... RATTLE CHAINS !!!! cost me 4200 EURO... :(... What a diff in price and the way you work.. maybe i should call the garage tomorrow, and give them advice to remove the transmission instead of the engine ;)

Hea firma tootjad eraldi ei paku enam ülemisi pinguteid. saab mingit toprani oma osta. Ei julgeks proovida neid. Originaal pinguteid saab osta eraldi aga nende kahe hind kokku sama mis febi/swagi ketikomplekti hind. Muidugi võid kohe komplekti ka osta ja esialgu ülemised prooviks ära vahetada. Aga üldiselt ketid ka kulunud ikka, et see hääl ei ole ainult pinguti probleem.Minu juurde pole jõudnud aga osadel neil ketid puruks ka läinud.

1300eur if the car is brought. Contains chain set, turbo installation set, chain cover gaskets, new oil and work. If only the engine is brought in then about 6-700 eur

Replaced due to start rattle? From what I gather this startup rattle can be ignored if it lasts no longer than 1-2 seconds. There's an Audi TSB stating this. Only need to worry if the rattle doesn't go away after those 1-2 seconds.

Not true as soon as it rattles it needs to be replaced. Rattles are caused by chain slack and when the car starts the sudden force makes the rattle that is later stoped due to inertia. When the rattle lasts longer the chain is seriously worn out and you have a muuuuuch higher risk of the chain snapping and causing a huge problem.

​@@stefansimic6856 there's literally an official TSB from Audi stating that a 1-2 second rattle on startup from cold is normal whilst oil pressure builds in the tensioners. If the rattle continues then the tensioners have failed and need replacing. Mine rattled pretty much from when I bought it at 50k miles and never got any worse up until I sold it at 85k miles. If you look through various owners groups you'll see instances of where people had new chains and tensioners fitted only for the rattle to still be there on brand new chains.

Antud juhul toodi ainult mootor mulle. Üldiselt mina võtan käigukasti maha ainult. 4.2tdi’l ei saa seal pean kõik koos eemaldama auto küljest.

Nukkvõllide hammasratta lukitus kohad oleks võinud jätta keskele, ma oleks veel mingi pesuainega pesnud ennem uue keti paigaldamist. Muidu täitsa nii tegid kuidas pidigi tegema!

13:20 puhastan cleaneriga ju. Nukkvõlli hammasratastele jäi piisavalt reguleerimis maad. Neid ei saa alati täpselt keskele.
