Thanks! I got Audacity recently and so far ive only leaned how to remove background noise. Now i would like to know if there is a way to remove one person's voice from an audio file, for example, two people are talking, male and female and I want to separate both voices as different tracks and then try to mix them by panning each on either side and then add low music score under it. By the way, really good production of this song and well sung.

Try www.easy-karaoke.com. It creates two files out of your file, music file and vocals file. Vocals file is what you need.

Hi, Dear Raghvendra, My audacity dose not accept MP3 file to remove vocal, only wave required, And from mp4 5.07 file found only 55 sec converted wave form, Now which audacity version you used, which able to convert mp3 vocal removal supported?

Additionally, you need to install 'LAME for Audacity' for mp3 support and for Video format support 'FFMPEG for Audacity' is also found on same page..Please google for it.

Vocal Remover is Nyquist Effect plugin comes with Audacity. If you do not see Vocal Remover plugin after Installation of Audacity, Go to Preference>Effects and Enable Nyquist. Then you will see in Effects list.

There is no "Swap Stereo Channels" option on the drop down menu. It doesn't exist.

It is not possible to remove vocals in all songs by this trick. It will only work if Audio is stereo mixed in usual/traditional way ( Keeping Vocal in the center of stereo spectrum and NOT panned to either left or right).

when i did this it kept the vocals but ghosted out the bass

I'm having trouble every time I try to import background music. It not only shrinks my entire voice track, but also I'm unable to zoom in or out individual tracks. Both tracks go at the same time. (Even though I've previously click "Select", "Solo", etc. What am I doing wrong?????? Thanls a lot!!!

These songs are recorded in Mono Era. Method explained the video may only work with Stereo Audio which conventionally mixed keeping Vocals in the center of the stereo field. So not possible. Don't waste your time.

It does not work! Especially the first one, it takes away everything and leaves squeaking sounds!

Can I make karaoke by this process?

It is a Nyquist Effect. Go to Preferences>Effects> Enable Nyquist

Bravo- works great- you can add subtitle to this video since there are so many English accent in this world and your accent was new to me worst accent for me to understand is Scottish

Separate both and render tracks for music and vocal. Then keep chorus parts in the vocal track by editing the mix.

Most of these videos DO NOT REMOVE VOCALS. The basically just Invert the song so they cancel out each other, so the vocals are still there, but it's just inaudible and sounds like shit in the background.
