I’m finding these videos very interesting.. I’ve been in supermarkets abroad but never been self catering to but actual food.. it’s really intriguing to find the similarities and differences, I remember the first time I went to Carefour and seeing all the ‘British’ stuff and thinking wow they have that here 😮

The butter debate used to go on in our family home when I was growing up too 😂I’m somewhere in the middle; fridge most of the time, because I only use it for toast or baking. Out of the fridge if it’s a very cold day Glad you’re starting to feel better, hopefully you can still make the most of your last week out there

I’m not a fan of goats cheese either. 🤢 Those ready meals were pricey.😮 I was just thinking for you to look for frozen spinach as I was typing, next thing you’re picking some up.😂 I always end up freezing most of my fresh spinach after using what I need fresh for salad and sandwiches. It’s great to throw frozen spinach into cooking and no waste. I’m ashamed to say I used to throw spinach when it started going slimy until I discovered I could freeze it. They come in handy little portions like you said. So it’s not one big lump in a bag when you buy frozen in the uk. Interesting to see there’s braille on food there. And the visual 3d things you showed us in the museum like the model of the boat. Is IB feeling any better for trying avoiding wheat?🌾 It can take a little while before you feel any difference so I hope he can stick at it. The bloat and other issues my hubby had like heartburn went a little while after he was eating the same stuff as me. You can pop the bananas 🍌 in the freezer if you’re not eating them quick enough. The cheese looks good there. I’d love to try them. Those yogurts were a good price Imo.😮 You don’t seem to be spending that much more on food for two of you. If you split the cost in half, is it close to what you spend on groceries for just yourself back home? Interesting vlog as always. Hope you’re feeling a bit better. X

Yeah, I don't feel like I'm spending much more? I admit I don't keep weekly logs of my spending to compare - I just stick to my shopping habits and they always work for me. He still doesn't really know about the wheat because he keeps giving into temptation so I don't think it's had a fair trial! Thanks :)

If it works keeping roughly to sticking to what you’d normally buy that’s brilliant. I think because you’re doing a mix of your own food at home and the occasional treat out you’re being sensible. It’s difficult to keep on track with sticking to any particular diet (not as in slimming) especially when you’re travelling around for work. I guess if IB was really unwell after eating gluten he’d want to be strict in what he ate. My husband used to get terrible diverticulitis flare ups after eating white bread, cereals such as Weetabix or porridge that wasn’t gluten free. Because he’s felt such a huge difference copying what I eat he’s stuck at it. Me and my husband both lost about a stone each after going gluten free. I think that’s mainly down to us not eating stacks of biscuits with our cuppa anymore. I bake gluten free stuff, but we are more aware of what we eat and how much. I certainly don’t get bloated anymore. Hubby takes food on business trips so he’s not tempted to buy anything that might make him feel unwell. Because there’s always plenty of stuff in the house it’s easy to pack up lunch to take with him. X

Seeing what the coffee costs there wishing it was like that here, most coffee starts around over $10.00 here where I am and some costs about $30.00 it's crazy. :o)

Are those crisp sticks the same as the salty sticks that we get here? They look similar. Wow that brocoli is cheap. Big oranges are about 50p each here. I couldn't eat those bananas I like mine just after they have ripened slightly. Hope you can get through all that in a week

I don't think the UK chip sticks are quite the same, because I tried to make a Portuguese style meal with them once and they went all soggy and horrid 😆 Yes - those bananas were nearly all squished right through. Thanks! :)
