ABOUT CHICAGO PD
From multiple Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf, "Chicago P.D." is a riveting police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city's most heinous offenses - organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond. They include Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Det. Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), the newest member of the team with killer instincts, humor and smarts. Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) runs a tight precinct with tough love, although she lets her softer side shine through from time to time.

The best Chicago PD shows have Kevin confronting racist cops. In one tonight he beat the crap out of a racist cop who stopped him while driving black and the cop killed a black guy. Kevin didn't exaggerate when testifying but he went to a bar afterwards and delivered the racist cop his fist. The scripts on these shows and acting by LaRoyce Hawkins are just superb. He should be in bigger roles but sometimes tv shows make it had for anyone to breakout and be a star.

I liked how they let Atwater resolve this himself keeping the current culture in mind while also keeping with the tone of the show. Not an easy balance particularly now. Of all the Dock Wolf shows I like they grey area that the show lives in.
Give him hell, Kevin. The man from Harvey does it again.
This scene right here... wow! Kevin Atwater has come completely into his own... on his own terms... love it! ✊🏽
I think this is my favorite scene in all of Chicago PD seasons. I can't see anybody playing Kevin Atwater like LaRoyce Hawkins does. This man is fire! I have watched Chicago PD ever since the day it came on television. I remember Atwater as a brand new street cop. Now look how he has grown. No matter if Atwater is talking with a woman, a child, or he's dealing with a bad guy or a bad cop, he plays it smooth every time. This is a man right here. I have mad healthy love for both Hawkins and Atwater. ❤️❤️

I like when Kevin says "But if you keep coming after me any member of my unit or any other cop, I promise you...I will give it all away. I will make it my job to come after you. And I will destroy you” and everything in between. Oh he really meant it...DAMN STRAIGHT!!!! WOOO!! And once he said all of that, Nolan finally decides to back off Kevin and to leave him alone. Kevin Atwater is so badass man, DAMN!!!! My dawg Kevin
This has to be one of the most powerful and best calm angry scenes the writers have ever offered us. I only wished Kevin had kept the heroin somewhere, like a bank lockbox, to have as evidence.
He messed with the worst of the 21st
My question is, aren't Racists TIRED OMG..its so trifling..ugh..🙄😡
@ciofloyd886

I just can’t understand their concept🤦🏽♂️ it’s 2021, If you are still racist I’m sure that feels like some sort of non-kickable addiction, you have to feel broken a little bit to have that race through your veins enough for it to pop out in your attitude and actions to the point where you are verbally harassing or slandering someone or even assault.
@RequiemPoete
3 жыл бұрын
@@ciofloyd886 Most racists aren't klansman marching down the street. They're little racists. They don't see themselves that way and make little judgements that turn out to have big consequences. That's what makes them dangerous.
@ciofloyd886
3 жыл бұрын
@@RequiemPoete they don’t see themselves that way, you’re right. But they possess and are overcome with that hate, it’s hatred. So trust me there is something negative impacting them. They can feel it. But to protrude and exert it says even more to how much you feel it and are in tune with it and recognize it for what it is. So there are those ones who even do take pity on themselves because they do see themselves like that. Hate and hatred is bigger than racism. Unhappiness is also bigger than racism. It’s going to affect you negatively the sameZ
Absolutely loved this scene was waiting for Atwater to do something and I loved when he finally did and stood his ground about not backing down this scene was so good!!!
Atwater stands up and uses his words as bullets to destroy Nolan. BRAVO!!
This is why Atwater is a real G to keep his cool.
"Voightwater"
A voight inspired confrontation with a nonviolent resolution, I kinda like it.
The way Atwater reached for his gun and then started tapping the table....low key bad a$$
Nolan even went so far as to order patrol officers to not respond to back up intelligence which let to Ruzek getting shot
Hank is a bulldog but kevin is a pitbull
Finally I’ve been waiting for this
I feel like Kev is everything they tried to make Jay. He does the right thing and refuses to compromise. Difference is he doesn’t whine like Jay always did.
@KingFo82

You are right about Jay always wining. I thought I was the only one that noticed it. He gives Voight hell for bending the rules when he will bend him himself when it benefits him.
Atwater drew a necessary line in the sand. 👏💖
He let him have it.... Checkmate: Don't play with me or my unit!
Still my favourite Atwater scene. LaRoyce, you should receive an Emmy for this scene alone.
As a lover of jazz... Black men have had to find a way to MAKE CHANGE like this for generations. Armstrong... Ellington... Miles... Coltrane.... They found a power in their horns.. That lured in white America.. Giving them a voice n a power to make change..as G Floyd's death has done for these men today..as seen brilliantly thru Kevin Atwater. What a performance!

One way to go out in style as well getting old racist cop is by threatening his reputation, family and his money. This is the most savage move that Voight can put in his book for future use
