ABOUT CHICAGO PD
From multiple Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf, "Chicago P.D." is a riveting police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city's most heinous offenses - organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond. Handpicked as the head of the unit, Det. Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) has assembled a team of diverse detectives who share his passion and commitment to keeping the city safe. They include Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Det. Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), the newest member of the team with killer instincts, humor and smarts. Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) runs a tight precinct with tough love, although she lets her softer side shine through from time to time.
Chicago PD is available now on Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal. Watch thousands of hours of hit movies and shows, plus daily news, sports, and pop culture updates. Stream now on Peacock.

    And Upton is right in this. Let's drop morality for a moment and just take a look at law and regulation. Voight kills this guy when he's wounded and restrained; it's murder, and IA starts tearing apart everything the Intelligence Unit has done in this situation, especially as the team should have been pulled as being too close to the case. He's also violated regulations and procedures. IA recommends dismissal and prosecution. His cases all get pulled and reviewed. Every dirty trick comes to light. Prisoners walk free. So the only way to protect the team so they can keep doing their jobs and be there for Burgess is to do things right and that means bringing the perp in alive.

    This scene proved that Hailey isn’t the dark to Jay’s light. She has her own lightness within her and when pushed to the edge, she will choose to do things right, regardless of the outcome. She isn’t afraid to push boundaries a little, but at the end of the day she will do what’s right. That’s why her and Jay work.

    If you remember, up until the season 5, she was the most strict rule follower out of everybody. Really, she was the one holding everybody else (especially Jay and Ruzek), making them act by the book. Her change in season 7 was really sudden for me, did not expect that

  • @itshauteoutside

    @itshauteoutside

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@nin1379 yeah, I completely agree. I always loved that we knew her backstory about her abusive father but she always had a control on her temper, seemingly so she didn’t fall into the same guise as her father. She wanted to be better than him. The last 2 seasons seeing that shakeup in her and letting her cede to the darkness a little was a bit OOC for Hailey to me, but I get it. Everyone has a limit and she was emulating Voight’s way of policing. But as we saw, Voight had to remind her she is not him and she is on the team for a reason. Ever since she came back from the FBI, I see the old Hailey slowly coming back. When push came to shove in this scene, she thought she did the right thing even though now this is blood on her hands. I hope we see her lean on Jay for this but bringing this up is shaky territory considering Voight’s past. Not looking forward to this being another issue between them but it’s inevitable he will find out and this will be the big showdown between him and Voight.

Their is always an internal struggle what they go through on a daily basis and see stories of the individual members is always really good. Voight is like a father to all his unit and he treats all of his unit like his own children. He would sacrifice himself straight away for them and do anything to make sure they don’t get hurt, that’s why he always says to them whenever 1 of his members are in deep trouble he will shoulder and bare it for them. This is why Voight is so selfless, honorable, and amazing!😍👮‍♂️🚔

    This scene is like Law and Order SVU when Elliot Stabler most times tries to beat suspect and Olivia Benson has to stop him Hank Voight and Elliot Stabler would make great partners but even Elliot doesn't go that far like Voight.

    @@amaiasofye3418 finally someone who understands me. This whole Upton/Halstead situation is terrible. They have ZERO chemistry. And I just don't understand why Jay has another dysfunctional person by his side. All the drama with Erin was bad enough. Now Upton. And the marriage proposal action was a laugh riot. Just because you're with a decent man who has a clear idea of morality doesn't make you as good a person.

    @@JustMe-mh2pn Yep, not even the writers seemed to remember they were a couple, like there was a switch on-off relationship button, and mode 'on' was in 3 episodes. So much for organic development. And they lack affection, their scenes as a couple all felt 'on command', Adam/Kim comes off way more natural. Most of the time in their 3-episode combo was pure drama. Final nail on the coffin was blurting out marriage; I'll take your words here, after a whole season not working, that was a laugh riot.
