Thank you, that's the goal around here. Unfortunately on page 136 of Operators guide for that machine under section about multi-function gauge messages. It just says to "Periodic maintenance required, see authorized Can-Am Dealer", so it doesn't look like there's a way to reset the maintenance required for your year model. So that's kind of a bummer, but thank you anyway for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Cheers.

Can am renegade 850 xxc was wondering if there is a rest procedure and if it's okay to use 5w40 synthetic diesel oil with K&N oil filter

So I found on brp's website on page 149 of the operators guide there is a reset procedure for a 2018 850 I'll copy and paste it below. If your referencing the Rotella T6 Oil I've found it does well for these machines as have many others on the can-am forums. As far as the filter goes I usually stick with the oem filters, but if K and N makes one specifically for the renegade I'm sure you'd be fine to go with that. Looks like your in luck, I found the following procedure on page 152 of the operators guide for that machine. " To erase the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED message, proceed as follows: 1. From main display (vehicle speed), press SET and HOLD. 2. Alternate between LOW beam and HIGH beam 3 times. NOTE: Step 2 must be completed within 2 seconds. 3. Release SET button." Unfortunately for that bike it'll be the same as the machines in the video with no reset procedure that I am aware of. Page 138 of the operators guide says this about the "MAINTENANCE SOON" notification "Periodic maintenance required. See an authorized Can-Am dealer." So that's kind of a bummer, but thank you for watching and commenting, and good luck with the oil change on your 500. Cheers.

So I looked it up and it looks like there is a procedure for your bike, and its a new one that no one else has asked for so please let us know if it works for you. Page 86 of Operators Guide for that Bike says the following about the "Maintenance Soon" notification. "Message can be erased by pressing alternately the override switch and the brake pedal 3 times, or can be erased by dealer." I'm really curious and hop it works for you. I got recommendations about motul and also about shell I got recommendations but the shell is successful according to reviews and I also want for my arctic cat what suits me 10w40 Do you recommend or should it be a problem

Unfortunately on page 88 and 162 of the operators guide for that machine it says something to the effect of see authorized can-am dealer, and dealer can erase message. So that's to bad, looks like dealer will have to erase that one. But thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers.

Okay no problem, fortunately you can reset it yourself on your 2017 XMR here is the procedure and I copied it from BRP so it should work To erase the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED message, proceed as follows: 1. From main display (vehicle speed), press SET and HOLD. 2. Alternate between LOW beam and HIGH beam 3 times. NOTE: Step 2 must be completed within 2 seconds. 3. Release SET button. @@canamcrazyman9301 damn, I've never had one of the new renegades to try it on, but I have done a similar reset process for the UTV's and its always a PITA. Maybe make sure the dash is showing the speed? and which button are you pressing while flicking the lights? from another viewers comments I'm thinking its the one on the right side of the dash? Might have to turn the key off right after? Let all of us know if it ends up working or not and I'll make a video on it as soon as we get one of these newer machines in. Thanks for update and bummer its not working, maybe it'll cooperate tomorrow

From what I can tell just from looking up the bikes of the guys who have commented so far they started letting us reset it ourselves for 2017 year model. I found this on page 73 of the renegades operators guide "Unit Selection (km/h vs MPH) The speedometer, odometer and trip meter are factory preset in miles but it is possible to change them to kilometer reading. yep, but at least BRP is paying attention that a lot of guys can and want to change the oil themselves and allowed reset procedures for some of those newer bikes, hope your oil change went smoothly

Where is the set button cause all I see is the arrow

without having the machine in front of me its hard to say, but I believe it's referencing one the buttons on each side of the display, maybe the one on the right? try holding that arrow button and flicking the low high beams three times before releasing it. Let us know if it works because I think a lot of people will find anything you figure out on this very helpful. Thank you for follow up question and keep us posted on if it works

Do not remove panels or cut the plastic. Just pull it away and remove filter then pull away and insert new filter. I just did it on my 21 450 outlander

Unfortanetly it does not look like there is a way to reset it on the gen 1 renegades without dealer software, i found this on page 71 of the operators guide for that machine. "MAINTENANCE SOON (3) Periodic maintenance required. See an authorized Can-Am dealer."
