There are no sensors in the fill-cap , pressure sensing diaphragms

Why are so many of us boaters having problems filling our tanks? It's crazy how slow I have to pump gas just to fill the tank. Where is the flaw in this system? Are we just stuck now with this crappy system? What's going on?

WASPS! In my boat the little terrorists had built a nest in the tiny vent port and plugged it so air pressure couldn't escape. I was having that same problem with my water tank. I would spend 10 minutes adding 20 gallons of overflowing water only to find 5 gallons in the tank. I replaced the old valves and installed new, clear hoses and was still fighting back pressure. That only left one option....why can't the pressure escape? I found them in my tank vent and toilet vents too :)
