I need to fabricate a gas tank for electric generator. The material that I will be using is 11 ga mild steel. What do I need to know to keep the inside of tank from corrosion.

What is the concern of stainless with aluminum? The two don't touch...except for maybe the screws but, it's stainless. Do you think the two metals would react?

You dont make marine fuel tanks in 1/8" alum...Should be 3/16" Min Coast gaurd wants 1/4" thick 100 gallons or more I will do 3/16" if less than 175 gallons and not a coast gaurd inspected vessel

Great looking tank but you should care a little for your workers.... Tig with T-shirts and exposing their skin to harmful UV. Spot weld without wearing welding helmet... people are exposing their skins and eyes to harmful Ultraviolet rays :(

Yes EXACTLY!!! And this guys talking about oxidation in the weld. Aluminum doesnt OXIDIZE. Only way you have a problem is if you overheat and cook the aluminum. This guy is an idiot.
