Attempting air layering Paperbark Maple

This is my first attempt at propagating trees around our farm.

    This is the first of your videos I've seen. I'm not even done with it, but I'm hoping I find you didn't trash any of these. Someone would pay to dollar for these ones!

    @tatr, I hope you enjoyed the video. I LOVE these trees so we definitely won’t be getting rid of any of them. We have tried working with a couple arborists but they want 90% of the trees as payment to help. I’m just saving up to get my own tree spade so I can dig up and transplant a lot of these. We will have some to sell once we thin them out as well.

    Well none of them took at all on the air layering. The bark actually looks like it healed itself on every tree. So I'm going to try the seeds here at the end of the month.

    Seeds are only 10% viable. When attempting an airlayer only use the strongest branches. Don't waste your time with sick or slow growing or distressed branches. You can move the trees to a better location in late fall after they are dormant. :)

    @cpwrkins405, the previous owner of our farm planted them. I have only managed to grow 3 from seed this far. These trees are really hard to propagate.
