If he did cut him off then it’s still the other drivers fault. If you’re going too fast that you can’t stop your own car safely without hitting something then that is driving without due care and attention. At least it is in the U.K. & the rest of the world. Bro in my country even the smallest police departments he would have been sacked so fast and he had been banned from the police union and stripped of all his police stuff and if he recieved any medals they would also be stripped.

Pretty suspicious that the officer was "just going to work" and yet happens to field this call, only to hand it over to someone else once he has identified it as an accident caused. Sounds like a team effort on the insurance fraud to me.

You watched the video and concluded that this was all above board? Are you the off duty driver?

Noone cares in the courts had a lady claim i did $200 worth if damage to her car i did none i did tap her but not even a scratch was left. In the court room i tried to call her out for fraud my public defender told me to ahut my mouth she got away with it while i got community service because i left the scene before the cops came when i stopped with her and assessed everything before leaving. No damage of course im not staying but ya the courts are just bullshit

He failed to slow down and managed to rip some of my side bodywork off. He later denied it and said I was in the middle of the road speeding. The case went to court. The judge was an idiot and couldn't appreciate that if I was in the middle of the road my whole front end would be destroyed. The truck driver was picked up 3 times for lying under oath and freely admitted lying. He had previous driving convictions. I had a 20+ year clean licence. So based on that, the judge decided it was my fault. Senile the lot of them!

This freaked out cop needs to go back to delivering pizza...he is NOT QUALIFIED to carry a weapon.

See I don't agree at all. YES he was not nice I'll agree to that....BUT I will say this guy was completely wrong in getting out of his vehicle at a traffic stop. So from what I saw...the cop was amp'd up because when someone jumps out of a vehicle at a traffic stop it usually means either flight or fight. So the cop is thinking he's either gonna get shot at or hes going to have to start chasing this guy down. VERY stupid move to get out of the vehicle. Just sit there. Like he said....who cares if he's a PI. He's already lost the guy he was following.

@@GunnyHov I think people understand why he (the cop) would be upset. The point where he goes beyond just being upset and commits assault by slamming the car door on the P. I.'s leg is inexcusable. Also the P.I. went back to his car and sat down and waited, obviously by that point he should of been able to get control of his emotions and do his job. When they aren't able to, they should consider finding a different vocation.

I'm sorry, but if your first reaction to a man leaving his car is to shoot that man (which y'all are claiming was a possibility) - then that man doesn't deserve to be a cop. There was no reason for the cop to act that way. And "get away with" what? There was no accident, he has it on film. Even if there was, there is literally no way to prove it because the other guy left the scene too. So it's officially hearsay (except at least this guy has video showing no signs of an accident).

That’s why I tell everyone when the subject of Dash Cams comes up, to never tell the cops, yours or the other party’s insurance company that you have dash cam footage. Nobody is going to help you but the judge or a jury. Let the other party sign all of the false statements they want. You WANT them to sign false statements. And since you are not representing yourself, by law you do not have to bring up that you have dash cam footage during the process called Discovery. But once you’re in court, seated next to your lawyer and the other party swears under oath about what happened, which will be a lie, you quietly lean over to your lawyer and THEN tell him you have it all on video, and slide a Copy of the dash cam footage over to him while the judge is watching. There! There’s the nail in the coffin of the scam artist, none of His Rights have been violated and at that point there will be a recess. Both lawyers and the judge will enter his chambers. Afterwards, when everyone returns, the case will be thrown out and the scammer will be arrested on a multitude of charges with prima facie evidence including but not limited to perjury, signing a false instrument for filing and possibly insurance fraud. At this point the SCAMMER’s scamming career is Over for good. THIS is how we stop the scammers dead in their tracks. When you get into an accident and know dam well it was not your fault, immediately reach up to your dash cam and put it in a safe place until you can view the footage and see that the video clears you. Do NOT show it to the cops, because the first thing they’ll do is tell the scammer and they will let the insurance companies battle it out. And in the meantime, is out scamming again. The reason our insurance is so high is because of scams. Help rid the roads of this vermin.

I think the claim was correct. His car crosses two lanes when merges into traffic. Not cool. I can imagine that the car coming from the left did hit a post trying to avoid him. It was also not smart to get out of the car.

I watch a lot of police videos...when someone gets out of their car, when pulled over by police, something bad usually goes down. That's what cops are used to. If you're pulled over by a cop, stay in the car. You could have told him you were a PI while sitting in your car. Getting out of your car was a dumb thing to do, and kinda makes me believe, that you did it intentionally so that you could make a KZread video of it, to get views and act like a victim.

I had a woman in a short skirt once hit my car, when the officer came, she said I hit her and blamed me. I pointed out the cars position and clearly shown I had the legal right of way, etc. She flirted with the officer and got him to blame me. I was ripping mad because of the injustice. I will never forget it.

You never get out of a vehicle when being pulled over. The first cop didnt know if you had a gun was going to use it when you got out of the vehicle as happens many times. So jumping out of the car is a reason to shoot and kill somebody? What the heck is this officers thinking?!

When he realized he got a camera and he was wrong he went back to you don't step out of the car like that. That is how you end dead by a coward and a criminal with a badge like me.

Once again, the cops demonstrate that reality doesn't actually matter to them. I would have begged for a ticket so I could go into open court and prove that this cop was a liar.

Sue that police department and not for the money but for the assault for which Sgt Harkins should not get away with since his police department stated he did nothing wrong even though there is video proof of the assault.

christopher draper a person may be frightened and pissed as a result...but that doesn’t mean the cop should have behaved that way. Your comment is meaningless. It’s not about having the emotion itself...it’s about how you behave under emotion. My original comment speaks of emotion in a general way but it’s about self control. The cop lacks self control when he’s angry. The cop was 100% wrong to behave in such a way.

Everyone is on edge these days. Going out of the car is not normal behavior on a traffic stop. The name of the game today is do everything within your power to let the cop know you're not a threat. Butt in the seat. Hands on the wheel. PI was running his own game, not considering cop. Cop could've been more professional.

He is a Sargent and he is the guy the patrolmen call to find out the proper way to handle a situation. It take a lot of time and experience to become a Sargent. This guy must have been asleep in class. The biggest problem I see is the Capitan saw nothing wrong with the way he did his job. They sit back and ask why don't the people like us. @@mertdogan575 They do run plates :) its automatically done constantly on the traffic... So they do not need to wait 10 minutes to come to talk they know pretty much instantly if the plate has issue. So it is true they don't make u wait for 10 minutes, also in Finland they use RED light to indicate that the vehicle in front needs to stop, no red light no stopping. The world is a weird place some just like to do things the hard way.

Based on the response time of mere minutes and some slips by the officer (like admitting he was off duty), the officer was in on it. He had a detailed and rehearsed story of a side swipe hit and run, and after finding out their mark had a dash cam, he retreated, coordinated with his partner, and returned with a completely different story about striking a sign. Seen it before. Do a lot of IT for insurance companies and they maintain databases of officers suspected of being accomplices to fraud, I actually designed the database used by several dozen offices in my area and it included whole departments, hundreds of officers just in Michigan. They're powerless to do anything to the cops but when a name from that list comes up in a police report connected to a claim they'll activate the extraordinary measures.

To be fair, you shouldn't jump out of your car during a car stop - that's really stupid.

I've worked in Bail Enforcement, Fugitive Recovery, and as a PI in AZ. We didn't have dash cam's like they do today, but I did have a similar situation with an LEO. My team was following someone in separate vehicles when I got pulled over. Another driver saw me in my car with full battle rattle in private clothes and reported me as someone impersonating a cop. I started to open my door to tell him I was following a Fugitive, but before I could say anything, I had the officer pull his duty weapon and yelled at me to throw out any weapons I had. My Springfield Armory 1911, my S&W snubnose 38, my AR15, my Remington 12 Guage, and my wife's Bersa 380 auto. As I was throwing this stuff out, 2 of my team members arrived because I called them on the radio and they aided me in convincing PD I wasn't a threat. After they relaxed we all started laughing and joking. They didn't understand why 1 person needed so many weapons. I told him because in most police officers day, they come in contact with all sorts of people good, bad, victims, criminals, but I only dealt with criminals. I wanted to make sure I was prepared. After that, I learned to just stay in my car and identified myself with them at my window, my hands on the steering wheel, and the first thing I would do, is tell them I was heavily armed and I would ask them, what would they like to do? It's Arizona, cops are more likely to be pretty cool here. Everyone carries out here. It's the wild West. That first cop was an asshole and should get reprimanded for his actions and injuring you. The 2nd cop was cool. Sometimes it's hit or miss.

At 0:26 he illegally merges into the left lane rather then the right lane occupied by slow moving traffic. He cut another driver off forcing the other driver into the median and over the sign. He caused an accident and sped off. At 2:55 the officer explains what the other driver is saying.

@@hoguhq the alleged murderer is innocent until proven guilty and has the right to be alive until his day in court and is sentenced. It is the police officers job to safely take them into custody. If it comes down to it, the police officer is the one who is supposed to put his life on the line, he actually took an oath to do that.

Officer needs to find another line of work. Passing judgement without viewing the footage was a huge mistake on the officers part.

Recently was in an Accident where a Car travelling 2x the Speed Limit, totalled their Car, hitting mine. The Cops did not assign Fault. The Driver had no Insurance, nor did the other Vehicle, as they were not the Owner of the Vehicle being Driven. The Police assigned no Fault, nor issued any Citations. My Insurance denied my Insurance Claim of Rental Coverage, due to the Vehicle Valuation and the Holidays, which would have caused the Rental Coverages to be Maxed out.... I purchased a Dual Recording Dash/Rear Facing Camera System. Though to be Punished for another Drivers 'At Fault' Driving, was something I will never Forget..... The Cops asked me "How do you know they were Speeding or Reckless Driving?".....
