@Ms. Violet How absurd...Freedom doesn't make sense as a theme for the whole show. It makes somewhat of a sense for the logo of the Survey Corps. However, at the end of the day, it should be about discovering the truth and fighting for it to be revealed

technically only eren knows how it will end since he is the last holder of the attack titan and has only been feeding the previous holders certain information. as for the past, only eren knows as well since he is the only one out the three who has had the coordinate AND touched someone of royal blood.

@@Rey5209 Its more complicated than that. I won't spoil you so I'll give the simple gist of it. To put it simply, it depends on where you're standing. If you're a Marleyan or pro-Marleyan, then Eldians are the real enemy, and thus must be destroyed. If you're an Eldian or pro-Eldian (like me, a staunch diehard of a certain faction that agrees with a lot of Floch's and Eren's actions), then Marley and the rest of the world are the real enemies, and thus must be destroyed. Eldians did use the Titans as weapons before, hence the unending hatred towards them. We've already seen how horrifying Titans are in the past arcs and seasons, now compound and multiply that horror and extend it for near two thousand years. As to the king, there are two kings that are largely present in the story. There's Karl Fritz, the last ruler of the Eldian Empire and the coward that retreated to Paradis. He was just a destructive pacifist that got buoyed by his own naivety and nonsense morality than end up destroying his own people, all because of some apologist guilt that nobody gives a shit (reminds you of Modern Germany honestly). In short, he's a traitor with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Heck he's an idiot and a coward through and through. The only good part of him is he had a pretty rad looking beard, and that's it. I kinda spoiled a bit here and got a bit heated with my bias, so sorry about that. He's a really shit king. The other king, the one I believe you're referring to is King Fritz, the first ruler and founder of the Eldian Empire, and yes, the one that enslaved Ymir and used her power to effectively destroy the Marleyan Empire and subsequently conquer the world. Two-thirds of the world's population died in his conquests. He's a very power-hungy and ambitious man, and viewed his people as an extension of himself, thus serving to display the need to conquer and seize everything, even beyond his death. In summary without spoiling things further, he's a pretty alright king. At least he's no coward or softy, and I can respect a man with ambition and strength to accomplish his dreams. Plus, he's quite the pimpin king. Yeah, he's cruel and ruthless, yet so is most conquerors and builders of empires, and I'd take him any day before a self-destructive pacifist that is disillusioned by grandiose stupidity. If you really want to pick an 'enemy', I'd say most people will say the Eldians of old. Modern Eldians simply do not bear this sin. As Grisha had said; "Me and Faye never did those things!" Yet as you and I both know, the world is not so rational and accommodating, thus all view Modern Eldians as the enemy. Understandable given the situation, and if you stand on Marley's pedestal, it's a no brainer decision really. Too many had died, and someone had to lose, and punished for transgressions. If I were a Marleyan, I'd advocate every bit of cruelty to the Eldians, even those that bore no sin. But like I said, it depends on where you're standing. Me, I stand with Eldia, thus Marley and the world and the traitors, are the enemy. So yes, go Rumbling. If you wanna go full meta, then the enemy is human nature. Either way, sorry for the essay. AoT is just that great and complex, and very much superior to damn near anything. Most Animes barely reach this level of great, let alone any Western creation.

Ironically, the ending ruined all three characters. Eren gave up to fate and Ymir, forgetting that he wanted to be free. Kruger helped the Alliance stop Eren, even though he had previously killed his own people in order to achieve what Eren was doing (restoring the Eldian Empire). Grisha also helped the Alliance stop Eren, although he himself, knowing that it would cause the Rumbling, still gave the Founding Titan to Eren. Anyway, it's an amazing theme, reminding how goated AOT was.

[Spoiler season 4] Due to the Attack Titan all three became slaves to an unchangeable future, and were forced to abandon the things that they fought for.

I read the Shingeki No Kiyojin manga while listening to this and boy it makes it so epic than it already is.

So sad how one of the best anime of all time ended so poorly. I still maintain that Zeke plan was the best. Even though it was the most anticlimactic, it was the most realistic one for peace. Eren went from "I will kill every titans to save humanity!" to "I will use every titans to kill humanity in the name of peace." It's the most stupid shit ever. It went from a nice well written story to what every stupid person in the world think saving the world is, kind of plan. The change they gave in the anime from the manga that Eren was simply acting from being a slave to peace & that every possible outcome in the infinite timelines possible the result was the same, is bullshit. That's some Avengers endgame bad writting rip off right there. I can't believe Attack on Titans with the same stupidity. Thanos plan, Eren's plan, Madara Uchiha's plan, every villain ever made plan are so stupid. I can't believe people think it's smart.

If you ask me I think the writter had such a huge story in his hands that he didn't know how to end it the right way without having the whole message crumble. I think they should have went with Zeke's plan but even though it's the most logic one, if I was Isayama, I too wouldn't like to end it on that as well. I think he went too far with is imagination & when the end approached he thought "how am I supppse to end this without destroying my story now?" & just like many fans must have had some great ideas he probably didn't want to listen to them because in his mind he must have thought that if he does what fans says then how is it still his creation now. Plus Eren said that there was more than freedom in his mind. He wanted this. He wanted to erase it all & that's why he was so sorry & was crying by realising how much of an hypocrite monster he was. A slave to freedom as he said.
