Thanks for this! I used to feel guilty when I put non-elemental damage goblets on my characters, but now I can rest assured that ATK% is viable

Here is why Atk% goblet is ***better : 1. Any character can use it (swappable between characters) 2. Increases all kind of dmg, not just elemental (not too much tho) 3. Easy to build 4. Best for mixed damage (phy+elem) characters *** Use Atk% only if the substats are really good *** Too much atk% will have diminishing returns *** Not recommended for pure elemental characters (e.g. Ningguang/Yanfei)

Basically, Catalysts are deal damage from elemental goblet, not Attack percent Goblet main stat? For Melee and Archer are can Attack percent without Elemental damage goblet?

@Arita Akimichi thought so too. since lost prayer passive give like 30% elem bonus as long as ning is on the field. so why not put att gob on her?

Westonsm, I kinda hope you become a great youtuber but also remain this kinda channel that helps Beginners or Not so expert players to guide them into playing the game better.

I've used atk% goblet with kaeya since the beggining, and it's super good on him, since i use everything in his kit, including normal attacks

i swapped my sub dps jeans goblet from anemo to atk a few days ago because my anemo goblet had miserable subs, and her damage actually went up as well as her heals. i have FD on her as well as c1, + 2pc vv, so she does get enough dmg bonus on her skill (which is what i mostly use for damage from her) to justify using atk% instead. her heals also became so much more reliable and her autos hit a bit harder too now. im really satisfied with the decision i made and i really think everyone should do testing and see which is better and when.

A big factor to consider is Kazuha, he already gives you a big elemental damage % bonus + some characters get that stat naturally while leveling up so you can definitely go overboard with the elemental damage % and lose out on damage in which case an atk% goblet would have been better.

I actually use atk main hat on him since i dont have em hat

the important information for me in there was, that all dmg bonuses stack additively... i always thought the more different dmg boni you take, the less diminishing returns you have, but i guess i was wrong.

I use atk% goblet on Qiqi. raises her heals while also keeping her damage (she is built with damage, albeit smol, but is still a damage dealer)

I use atk% goblet with qiqi and a heal bonus circlet, with her 2nd passive you can have a mini ult for 6 secs every 30 seconds along with normal ult that can outheal a cryo fatui agent

You forgot Jean's healing scaling. I put a 4-piece Gladiators's Finale on her. The three artifacts are 46% atk. Now that I know, I am gonna use the inazuma weapon for additional attack.

Its especially good to use attack% on ei because she got a pretty good passive that gives her electro damage bonus from her burst scaling of her energy recharge

That's it am not trashing any 5 star artifacts ever now lmao ... First i lacked many EM artifacts for anemo character when EM anemo became meta now this ... They ll add something in dendro region like Here put this Healing bonus Goblet and your healing would do 10 trillion damage now ..lmao anyway thanks for the heads up man.

I'm almost always running atk% sands so it would be extremely situational for me to consider an atk% goblet. It might also be why I've consistently ranked Bennett below a lot of other people (I think he's great, just massively overrated but I did get Jean on the beginner banner and Diona as my first non-guaranteed champion, so my healer grades are skewed very high and Bennett is lacking compared to them as more of a medic who stabilizes you).

The conclution is.damage bonus artifacts only increses your elemental or physical damage by cirtain amount,but the atk% artifacts increases not only the elemental dmage but also the physical damage as well by the similer amounts.so the atk% artifacts are better.👍

ATK% Goblet could be the most F2P Friendly too since grinding for that specific Elemental% Goblet isn't always easy.

Good information for most people but there are no diminishing returns on stats. Damage output is a maximization problem. Saying there are diminishing returns implies that that stats do not increase linearly and rather have a point of inflection (point of diminishing returns) where the rate of gain starts to decrease. This is simply not true therefore we should be careful saying "diminishing returns" when we are seeking to balance our offensive stats to maximize the damage equation.

I keep ATK% Goblets if I want characrers like Xiangling or Beidou to also do some damage with their normal attacks. I do this for co-op where I dont have the luxury to switch out my character if their elemental abilities aren't ready.

Do not worry AtK% goblet with godly rolls of crit is as rare as ATK% sands with crit rolls.. So far I only have one Atk% goblet with 10/20crit.crtdmg roll and this is on my 2nd account which is actually 2months younger than my main and I've played since day1. P.S: I'm actually one of those people who see crit/critdmg rolls = autolock even if it's hp/healing/def/em/er mainstat

i run atk% goblet on my klee because i run her with kazuha and also lost prayers as her weapon + her ascension is laready pyro dmg bonus. atk% goblet definitely works better than a pyro goblet in this situation!

would running a atk% goblet would be bad for xingqui because of his ascension stat?

I would like to point out that Yoimiya actually gets more benefit from attack% goblet when running Rust + Shimenawa's set, I believe you forgot to point out she gets normal attack damage bonus from using her skill which adds 155% normal attack damage at level 8, which brings the total close to 300% total damage bonus (crazy right?) during her infusion window. This is further intensified if you are running Thundering Pulse on her, which doesn't get an attack substat, unlike Rust.

For some mysterious reason I can't get 5* pyro dmg goblets so I've been saving a 4* goblet for Hu Tao when her rerun comes out, my question is, should I use that 4* goblet or use one of the atk% goblets. I heard atk% isn't that good on her because of her low base atk so I don't know.

continue using the pyro dmg goblet. Instead of Atk, you could try an HP goblet, since hu tao's damage is based more on her max hp than atk :D

@@westonsm Thank you for the vid. Really gets me thinking about Baal. I mean i would assume we'd aim for 300% ER, unless i'm doing wrong math, that'd be 80% electro dmg added right? You're def going to want an ER sands, her ATK might be somewhere around 1300 with no good atk% subs. (I'm planning on using Skyward Spine atm) So an ATK cup could be very good. If it's even close, i'll use it because it would make her all that much better with just phys with her polearm when just roaming around the overworld and doing dailies.

I think she can be built with an ER or ATK sands and Electro or ATK goblet and a lot of it just comes down to your team and quality of substats. My planned build is sitting right around 280% ER like you mentioned. I’ll be testing out some different pieces. Her battery potential and team burst buff scale off ER which is something to keep in mind too.

@@westonsm Yeah true, there are a lot of factors. Substats and weapon being huge ones. As her weapon gives some atk. My main concern with her tbh is will we actually be able to enjoy her kit outside of Abyss. I have to imagine most things will already be dead by the time you get to her burst... In all honesty, I will be pulling her because i'm 50 away from guaranteed and there is no one i want in the immediate future. The fact she is an archon is literally the only thing i like about her. Well that and her sword mode. But that is quite fleeting.

That’s totally fair. I feel like that about a lot of characters at this point (Eula being number 1) because open world is easy late game. Lately I am just building characters I like (fun factor or aesthetics). The game is getting harder though so I believe she will definitely be valuable long term. You can always hold off until Mihoyo announces characters for 2.2 before deciding!

It really depends. If the 5 star has much better crit substats, you are running a phys damage weapon and 2pc pale flame + 2pc bloodstained or 4pc pale flame then there is a good chance it will. If you are running an ATK% weapon then the phys damage goblet will probably be better.

Gonna get a lot of ATK with Engulfing Lightning though, in that case I suppose we can go back to electro dmg bonus goblet on baal?

Fr i got a 27.2% crit dmg substat i got an ATK goblet

I saved all 5 star artifacts with substats regardless of it's main stat. Guess what my Noelle and Diona thank me now.

Me with 25% crit dmg and 7% crit rate; this thing is too good to be called trash

I minced so many EM goblets over the last 2 years, now I have Kaz and I hate myself..

No i dont think cause the the difference between 16 and 20 is important and specially for circlet even though its expensive to raise it Also 5star arti hav minimum 3sub stats at lv 0 whereas 4star may have between 2 or 3 sub stats lv 0 Moreover the scaling when a sub stats is upgraded on 4star arti is lower I think

If the substats are good, it makes a good placeholder piece, particularly if the 4 piece set effect is important. My Jean is still running a 4 star Anemo DMG VV goblet which rolled exclusively into crit stats. I have a better version of the artifact as a 5 star (all 4 of the substats are the same and it rolled into the exact same stats), but it's a Wanderer's piece, so it would have less value despite having higher stats.

I had been farming for geo-damage goblet for about 3 weeks, I need 2 for Noelle and Ningguang. 4* geo-dmg dropped once. After levelling it up I tested it on Ningguang, but she didn't recieve a dmg as big as I wanted, also her goblet had tasty 11% crit chance substat, so she was better off with her 5* 20lvl atk% goblet. But Noelle did start dishing pain out with this cup, so I kept it for her. I do want 5* goblets for them both though, but as long as they don't drop - I make do with what I have.

A flower with insane substats on a DPS or like mentioned an elusive EM VV piece IMO are the only ones generally worth keeping

Yeah, it seems like I will never have a good Geo Dmg Goblet. So my Albedo is using a really good DEF% Goblet and he deals 22-25k per tick.

Yeah, an atk goblet is easier to obtain. i have one as a filler for kaeya. im still waiting to get a cryo dmg bonus one T-T but still even with an atk goblet, and low crit rate (because im farming for 4pc blizzard) he still can crit from a 10k-20k range from his lv7 skill talent LOOOL

I have atk goblets and they literally almost always have crit rate crit dmg and atk substat so I'm watching this haahhahaha

ATK% is also underrated as a substat. Yes, crit stats are almost always better, but we don't get to choose our artifacts and I have seen so many people call artifacts trash when they rolled a few times into ATK%, when this is not true at all. I did calculations for some of my characters and the value of an additional average ATK% substat was between 70% and 90% of an additional average Crit substat. That is around the same ratio between a low roll and a higher roll. For example one of my best Flowers has 19.8 ATK% 9.3 Crit% 7.0 CritDMG%. Some people might call that trash, but when I use a DMG calculator, this is usually the flower that gets picked as the best in slot over other artifacts with much higher crit values.

@@westonsm This would be nice to have expanded upon! That and flat ATK overview. To me, it seems like the least desireable substat, but I'm sure it's there for a reason.

Not using ATK% for characters like Sayu or Jean, who scale with ATK, is a waste. But my Hp% VV artefacts are crying in the corner, why do all anemo characters need the same stats ;_;

The idea of attack goblet is simple: If you deal physical and elemental damages equally, the attack goblet is better (but is the only case). If you have a catalyst user, elemental goblet is 100% better than attack one, just because how the formula works. The same goes for physical goblet, if your character or build are mainly physical focused than physical goblet is definitely better.

This calculator site is really confusing ._.
