Thank you for sharing the wonderful video for all who loves this locomotive and cannot be there. Adrian in Argentina
This video is completely awesome...best one I've seen yet of this trip and I'm not even done watching it! I love the "Foamers in Pursuit" part...awesome touch to the video!
3751 was bought by the SBRHS in the 1980's from the city of San Bernadino for $1, it wasn't sent to a museum in 1995.
you take care as well man. In fact, to show how much I like this video, it's going right to my favorites, and I'm going to post my video as a response to it.
OK...HANDS DOWN! ...That is the BEST SF3751 footage on ALL of KZread! Serious! Amazing Amazing AMAZING FOOTAGE! Thank you VERY much for all your work to put this together for all us to watch!!! PS. So...what are you doing for the return trip?????? :-)
Excellent video, the train combined with the scenery is spectacular!
Woww that’s awesome train
Simply superb, specially at twilights, when the loco reigns majestic and magnificent. It seems the elements acted in your behalf, notably when the movie is silent, and the grandiosity of your takes fulfils the screen.I adore steam, I am son of a railroad man, born and created at a railtrack side. Daily steam trains were great adventures. But I must confess: This is the first time I am delighted for hearing no sound. Image speakes for itself. Congrats for the usual excellency of your works.
Super demais está vaporosa da Santa Fé!!!!!!
Santa Fe 4-8-4 #3751 was pulling the Grand Canyon Limited Excursion in August 2002 and May 2012.
Has to be one of the easiest paces I've ever seen there at the end. Great job!
I think that's me at 12:29 in the Silver Solarium car. I became a member of this locomotive and I had a good talk with one of them. They even gave me a cab ride in the engine on the second day of the trip before we reached Matthie.
Amazing video man, You really got some good shots. I cant not favorite this one.
Great video. I was going to make a trip all of the way down to LA to chase this train on its return trip, but alas, other things got in the way. I really wish I could have seen this excursion. The chasing would have been awesome!
wow very nice work man.
awsome video man. I chased the train over Cajon Pass to Summit from San Bernardino the same day. I just wish I'd been able to chase it all the way out to Barstow like I originally planned. But at least I got to see it. your video is very nicely done. BTW the description says 809 is a P42, it's actually a P40.
It would've been so cool if you got a shot of 3751 charging up Bolo Hill, but these shots are excellent!
Excellent video! It looks like the drive along the A&C was worth it! I decided against it and went home from Cadiz, but that probably had more to do with the fact that I had been awake for 36 hours straight at that point! ;) Again, great footage...it puts all mine to shame!
Love it!
This vid is near Pentrex quality. Good work!
Everything look older an better in this video
BNSF resulted when the Burlington Northern and the AT&SF merged in 1995. CN and CP are separate companies and have never had common ownership. CN was owned by the Canadian government until it was privatized in 1995. CP has always been a private sector company. North American Railways was going to be the name of a merged BNSF and CN, but the STB denied the merger in 1999; there was never was an operating company called North American Railways. BNSF is now owned by Berkshire Hathaway.
Awesome footage! Wished I could see steam like that in the east.

S&A Rail same! I hope I get to see C&O 2716 operate through Upstate New York
UP. 'Nuff said.
I bet you where pissed at 3:08! Incredible video! 15/10*
nice love it
Slow going from Cadiz on due to slow order on Arizona & California Railroad Cadiz, Ca to Parker, Az.
3751 was sent to a museum in 1995 when the BNSF merger happened. when BNSF was created the company was bought by a Canadian holding company called North American Railways this company owns the CN and Canadian Pacific. I heard that North American Railways went bankrupt when Canada and the US Supreme Court called the company a monopoly which caused them go bankrupt now Burkshaw owns BNSF.
Excellent work - shame about getting bowled at Cahon but nice to see a couple of war bonnets What was the tmeperature out there in the desert??
Santa Fe 3751 Pulls The Grand Canyon Limited
Were the cars really going that fast at 7:05?
Very well covered footage here robert!! Was it going 25 on the AZC? David
my mistake but the info about BNSF is right
SAWEEEET!!!! very nice video... now why can't any steamers come to the bay area!
Sehr Schoen! Eine Frage jedoch. Arbeiten die Dieselloks mit? An der Zweiten kann man ja Abgase sehen! Oder ist das nur im Leerlauf? Wie schnell kann die 3751 sein? Ein Top Video!
I said that because of the court order NAR folded and caused BNSF to go bankrupt. Buffett and his Berkshire company saved them because the NAR merger depleted their account
Since when has 3751 been owned by Santa Fe since it's placement in Viaduct Park in San Bernadino? It may have been "leased" but not "owned". You still make a good point in BNSF not having heritage units, they should (Also CSX should as well). UP and NS has done it, why not?
anytime, seriously though your video is very nice. I don't mean to offend you but I'm actually a little jealous of just how good it really is. I think my video came out ok, but I still think it could have been better.
I live in corona and i never knew about this! ;(
Made In I Love Big Trains Parts 1 & 1
I agree curse BNSF they have no right to block these excursions they are running their Canadian and Mexican EMDs on the line when 3751 is one of their heritage locomotives. they threw it out the window and bought 12billion dollars of trash locomotives. UP,NS,and CSX all have heritage fleets BNSF does not they sold 3751 in 1995 and all of their heritage trains from both companies and what did they spend it on garbage EMDs from Mexico and Canada and workers that are not US citizen in their brass
