Atomic Heart: 4 Robots That Will Try to Kill You - IGN First

Atomic Heart is set in an alternate Soviet history world full of robots. They are each cleverly grounded in the lore of Atomic Heart - built by Facility 3826 to provide day-to-day help for the population - and definitely not going to try and kill you. Here, we’ll be taking a closer look at four of the many unique designs that developer Mundfish has created for Atomic Heart.

@@jacobdenise1648 thats likely. but as a russian its still amazing to see a soviet theme to be explored in video games, whereas night city in cyberpunk felt pretty generic.
This is what happens when GameDevs hire Architechts and Engineers for character design and direction. A+++

There’s news floating around that the devs were told to forget about “primitive things” like days off and vacation time and were forced to crunch.
Feels like they really hired engineers to make the designs, they look legit, absolutely amazing

Atomic Heart feels like the statement "this machine does not know the difference between flesh and metal, nor does it care" turned into a game
Most unique enemy designs in a shooter that I’ve seen since System Shock 2. Hope that’s not the only connection this game has to SS2!

Everything about this game looks totally amazing and bonkers. Love the industrial/futuristic narrative around the design of these, with a tongue firmly in cheek 😂

This really is godly character design. Making a character with personalities and struggles is one thing, but designing a robot forces you to think about how it is able to move and be powered, and also model everything inside the robot.
Usually, games with robot only enemies can be a biy too mechanical when shooting / destroying them. This game has all sorts of particles effects, bits fall off robots and they also react to being hit. Very varied and original robot designs too.
Laborer used to be callled Kurochka which is Hen/Chicken in Russian. Named because it looks and walks like a chicken 🐔 but with a sawblade.
Been my most anticipated game since it was revealed

just don’t preorder it. mindfish is a no-name studio with no projects behind and also there were some sketchy stories about the CEO
Finally some news from this game! Just unfortunate that it happens to be in times like these...
Love the tiny details on all of them. Even the serial numbers on the small metal parts. Its so cool... the first one is Cute but deadly.
"Vovchik" is a friendly version of Russian name Vova\Vladimir. It`s like "Johnny" being friendly version of name Jonathan.

It's all in-game, the game's built on UE4. It doesn't look photorealistic to me, the aging UE4 is definitely showing
