    What was avg MPG? Plus how big is tank? How much did it cost fill tank up?

  • @Pickuptrucktalk

    @Pickuptrucktalk

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@richardgallegos6463 average anywhere from 5-10 mpg. It is a 33 gallon tank and it requires premium fuel. So, at $3 a gallon for premium you are around $60-70 per fill up. With that said, if you are buying a $91k truck and worried about MPG, I’d question your buying decision. 😁

    She’s the last person I would expect to see step out of a trx haha. Nothing against her tho, she did a great job on camera and a nice bright personality. I personally would never buy a raptor or trx if I lived in the city unless you drive it only on weekends. That’s one thing I love about my 4runner trd pro. It’s big enough for everyday stuff and cargo and hauling passengers and gear, yet small and nimble enough for the tightest trails, mountainside shelf roads, and of course city parking and especially parallel parking. I know few people who had raptors who live in Baltimore and DC and ended up selling it after a few months cause it’s just such a pain.

    That's awesome that you don't want to be that guy. If your truck takes up a lot of space, park it in the back of the parking lot. You'd be surprised how many people try to cram a big ass truck up front in a little bitty space just so they don't have to walk a few extra steps. Excellent video by the way I very much enjoyed it

    I know people who drive a dually and have a truck camper mounted on-board. They really have fun driving them since most of them have anywhere from two to four feet behind the truck for the camper. Makes it fun driving. My wife really prefers me not getting a dually when we replace our current truck with a much newer model.

    Jill, I have a Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab with the long bed (8'). Try parking that in your garage! I don't even try, instead I park on my second driveway going to my back yard. I do have an advantage since I live on an acre of land with an orchard (primarily pecan trees). You've done very well. Driving a taller vehicle like a truck is where the adjustable pedals really come into play. I'm about 6 ft. and my wife is 4'11" so she needs to adjust the seat and pedals all the way forward and all the way up. Our next truck (which I've been looking for the past seven months) will have all the sensors.

    @@jillciminillo I enjoyed watching you drive the TRX. The first time I drove a Large truck I was in the Army and they assigned a deuce 'n 1/2 for me to drive. This "small" Army truck had 2 steering wheels and 8 rear wheels all of which could be powered so it was a ten wheel drive. These were used wherever the Army & marines had units. The Navy had some, but those were usually the smaller truck (1.5 ton). I had only driven for about 8 months at the time, so it was a real challenge. Much like your challenge, an experience to have once.

    Great video on a very real experience. I have the same experience with my Ford Excursion in San Francisco. I mainly need to watch the extendable towing mirrors. Even when not extended they go pretty wide and sometimes need to fold them in at some drive-thrus and parking garages. I installed a new entertainment system that included a back-up camera to help me with parking as my XLT did not come with parking sensors. It's definitely easier to back into spaces with or without the backup camera. I'm just not intimidated anymore because being the oldest of 6 kids, I've been driving full size vans and a couple Suburbans since I was 16 on family trips. LOL.

    Fantastic driving! Chicago is NOT big vehicle friendly. Even the Oasis can give you trouble. I tow our 30' RV Trailer with a Ram 2500 MegaCab with the 6.4 Hemi. This means I use gas not diesel. However the Oasis is not trailer friendly at the gas pumps, only the diesel pumps. I have gone through the skyway tollgates with the trailer no problem. I lived in Chicago for a few years. Driving downtown or around neighborhoods like Lincoln Park would be irritating to say the least with any 1/2 ton or larger truck. Parking structures with my F250 is pretty much a “no go”. Also, sitting in traffic for hours burning Diesel makes me cringe just thinking about it. Just put a smart car in the bed and deploy it when needed. Sure do miss the food though! I could go for a beef sandwich right about now.

    The average standard 7x16 foot double car garage door size needs to change if modern vehicles are going to fit. Trucks are just getting too tall 9 foot heights should be the normal now, even width needs to change if full size trucks and SUV’s are going fit these days...the extra cost will suck though, it’s only money right?

    @@andyrosen2178 The entry into the garage is elevated as you can see on camera. Every garage is different. The truck, by the spec sheet, is 6'7" tall. It is going to be a tight fit for many garages. You can probably get it in. Jill clearly wasn't comfortable with how close it was going to be an aborted the plan on getting it into the garage.

    I can't imagine living in an area where you worry whether your vehicle will be stolen or not. I live in the country and leave the front door of my house unlocked and leave the keys to my truck in the ignition. City slickers shouldn't be truck owners...LOL

    City slickers shouldn't own nice cars unless they have a garage big enough for them! 😁 But yes, it is a bit fraught always worrying about your car getting stolen, broken into or jacked (I've had all 3). Regular and extended cabs do typically fit in my garage, though, unless they have a long bed ...

    @John carman You’re fortunate. Based on what you hear on the news, you’d think you’ll get shot the moment you walk out the door in Chicago. What they don’t tell you is that all those shootings are only in certain neighborhoods and they’re among gang members. They’re very direct and not random. They’re personal vendettas or turf disputes. I know. I’m in the public safety sector. I’ve forgotten to lock my back door and garage doors quite a few times and no one bothers anything in my neighborhood.
