I'd love to know how your Martinez is holding up and also if you'd do a dedicated video on its attachment methods and pocket deepdive!

Im a deck builder. I need 3 pouches for fasteners. Deck screws, cortex screws, and trim screws, or nails. So im intrigued by the molly style webbing so I can add pouches to the screw and nail pouch

That's a great review on a great set up. I sadly cancelled my order with atlas 46 because it was looking like I could be retired before they processed my order.

Yea that wait time is rough. It’s definitely worth it, but I hear ya for not wanting to spend the money if you don’t have many years left. thanks for the comment JRS

They make a great product , but the shipping times are ridiculous, that's probably their only con.

Nice summary. Would throw out their that usually doesn't get mentioned is these "boutique" tool belt brands, atlas, diamondback, occidental all cater towards left handed users as well. So.. if you are a lefty you will save money and frustration starting in these ecosystems vs big box store brands. I had "Frankenstein'd" rigs together for years before I discovered. Hate to think of the absurd sums I spent trying to get an ideal rig together. I lean towards the diamondback ecosystem but the others mentioned in video and above all look to be top notch quality. Thanks for your insight.

I had to get the cavetto belt myself. I thought a 4” large would do and it’s just a little too big! Nice review!

for 22 years I've been wearing Occidentals. Although I always tell my apprentices to get what ever will help you make money and be more productive. when I do finnish work I don't wear bags. I wear overalls so as not to damage any finnish work.

My tool belt progression... I started out with the lumber yard canvas aprons that you'd get for free at the counter and added a hammer holder made out of a wire clothes hanger and I rivited a slot in one of the pockets for my roofing knife. Then I graduated to a single carpenter's pouch that was a hand-me-down that I rigged up with a belt & hammer loop on the other side. Then I got my first "own" rig; An AWP oil tanned leather set...Framer's pouch on left, hammer loop on right with a knife sheath on the right too. That was my mainstay for a decade. I wore out two set-ups like that. Loved AWP (American Work Products) that were carried by Lowe's and they were basically made by Rooster Products in Mexico. The best value set there was out there (I think McGuire-Nichols bought them out). Then...I really went all out and got my Occidental Leather Framer's Rig that I'd break down into roofing work & carpentry work by adding/removing pouches. It took me a while to break them in, but once I did, like a great pair of work boots, they were perfect. They really shape themselves to the worker and form to your body. Pricey, but they last forever practically. Nice review Justin.

I have the same bag you started with and OC suspenders I see in the back I like the bag but the suspenders aren't always the best do you know if the Atlas 46 suspenders are any good? Also thanks for the review concise and to the point!

Sorry Jaden I do not know about the suspenders. they seem to look very nice. The diamondbacks seem decent too, but I’ve only had the OC’s myself and I don’t use them very often. If I see anyone get them I will try them or ask for you and let you know. Thank you for the comment.

Hey not trying to hate but I just don’t get the people saying in videos that the hood belts have slippage. I’ve used a cheap ass husky belt for better on 8months straight doing rough framing trusses all the way up to putting facia on and it stays put all day. I do however try to run light. So if I know I won’t need my chalk I’ll trash it. Or switch to a 16oz instead of the 24oz I use for framing. It’s concerning to me because I really wanna try out a diamond back but that’s the thing I keep hearing. Then they say we’ll get suspenders. Well are they worth it? What’s the draw back of them. Idk. There’s soo much to absorb for this. I love love love the work. Just wanna get the fit right

The husky setups are actually OK. Went through 2 carpenters belts over the course of a few years. Does your padded belt have that velcro all the way around? If so, I know what you're talking about. Not " high end", but does actually stack up, even though many people won't want to admit it. If you are willing to take some friendly advice, once you decide you're ready for something more high end... check out badger, if nothing else, there padded belt is no joke really nice. If you think the pouches are still OK, keep them and chuck them on a badger belt. I have a vid coming out real soon comparing atlas, diamondback, and badger belts. I'll save you the 15 or so minutes the video will be. Badger belt for the no joke win.
