39:11 "If the U-Boat is detected at daytime with HF/DF, you may attack the (shadowing) U-Boat, even though it is not attacking the convoy." For me that means, that you cannot detect a shadowing U-Boat with ASDIC.

That means you drove off the U-Boat during the night.

35:22 I doubt that the surface attack modifier is valid, as the U-Boat was detected by ASDIC

Hi Dave, Enjoying your gameplay. Question for ya. Are you moving the escorts too soon for detection attempts when U-Boat is in the approach zone undetected? Why would the escort converge (move) on a U-Boat that is not detected. The escorts do not know anything is out there until a successful detection, then reinforcements charge in. I have Atlantic Sentinels, but still in shrink-wrap so I can't reference the rules

It is all simulated as part of their attack. But not specifically unless you play it with the Hunters.
