Positively spectacular. So impressed with the conservation efforts made in Newfoundland and all of Canada. Someday I hope to see AS being legally caught again in the US, but we have a lot of work to do. Thank you for this.
This river basin epitomizes North Atlantic wilderness fishing. I fished this river every June from 2003 to 2009 when George Hardy owned that camp. We would boat in along the coast from Rose Blance NL and spend a week fishing the river. Caught lots of nice grilse and a few Multi Winter fish, but salmon are generally small on this river with only about 1 in 15 being multi winter salmon. River looks the same in this video as it did then. Robert Wachtell, Weston CT
been waiting for these new atlantic salmon vids here in newfoundland
Hello from Syd Australia, no Atlantic salmon fishing where I am from - but I do fly to glorious NZ once a year and fly fish for trout. I'm so grateful the New Fly Fisher show exists, such a noble and professional show a joy to watch, there is really nothing else quite like it.
Now that your killing it, tell the guys thks for the new addiction… 😛
Not gonna lie although I am a firm believer in catch and release, if I'm fishing for any kind of salmon I will keep 1 fish for the dinner table but if given the choice it would be a male so that it wouldn't be as detrimental. Also in personal experiences(northern California King salmon) I've had numerous times when I'm fishing with proven effective lures and can't get a bite even when I see pods of salmon porpoising and jumping. I move to another spot that's deeper and I hook up in the first 5 or so casts.
👌👍👏👏🥇⚘
Salmon on the Rock ....doesn't get much better
Why they call it fishing; not catching. Getting one on the line is just as exciting as netting one.

I've only recently become interested in (Atlantic) salmon fishing (after fishing 35+ years for the Pacific kind and steelhead) and while I've been fishing once, I saw a fish come out of the water only feet from me - maybe 5 or 6 lbs. - and the gentleman across from screamed as he saw another come out (must've been new at it to, lol) that I missed, but seeing that fish has me hooked! I can't wait to go north in the spring and plan on spending the three seasons fishing for these magnificent fish until I see one face to face.
Garia Bay is on the South West coast of Newfoundland. :-) Just sayin lol
