when u realize the winner just WALKED 12.4 miles at a 6:21 pace per mile... literally most people in the world can't RUN half a mile at that pace wtf lol

They should've awarded Perez the gold medal, since later on it was proven that Valeriy Borchin was doped/drugged and that's why he won

because it's not the least bit impressive to be the worlds fastest walker, cause you could still be faster if you just jogged lol...of all things to be good at in life, this has got to be the worst

+Dan Why run when driving a car is faster? Why drive a car when flying an airplane is faster? By your logic, the only acceptable type of race would be with spaceships.

+Nimaite u idiot his tryna say that what a human can do on its own not with equipments. So jogging can beat the olympics fastest walker

+muhammad40000 Fine then. I'll use a different example. By his logic, the only race in swimming should be the front crawl stroke, since it is the fastest stroke, and no matter what stroke you do in a race, you could do a front crawl faster. But if that ever happened, most swimming competitions would be removed, even though all strokes can have exciting races. We shouldn't just remove competitions simply because some people perceive a "lack of efficiency."

Swimming has some weird strokes like the butterfly and breaststroke that force a swimmer to go not as fast doing an unnatural, but strictly enforced, movement. That's what this is to foot racing, but I'd rather see a walking backwards race.

@flame123652 there are africans that do this sport, but not many. its a choice, and clearly they prefer to be runners. if you knew anything about this sport you'd realise that it is completely different to running. there are rules of technique you have to stick to or you get disqualified, there is nothing like that in running, its simply, "run as fast as you can". walking is like running, with the stamina element but requires much more discipline.
