Yes Robert is really amazing, and it's BECAUSE he's so genuine, honest and sincere. He's a fine example of someone who can appreciate conclusions drawn from observation and rational, logical thought. He is calm, collective and interested because truth is really so simple. It's rationalizing a lousy belief that gets difficult.I'm so happy the blur cleared up for me. Foride r the first time I felt real responsibility and empathy for others.

Let's word it this way: The Jesus of the gospels never existed. When almost every miracle Jesus does in the gospels is taken from previous literature, and the epistles are generally devoid of anything remotely resembling the Jesus of the gospels (in all of Paul's letters he mentions precisely NONE of Jesus' miracles or teachings) then I could say without much hesitation that the Jesus of the gospels never existed. Was there A teacher figure prior to the gospels being written? Was there a hero figure prior to the gospels? Was there a traveling prophet? A doomsayer with "woe to Jerusalem" on his tongue? Yes, these TYPES were there. JESUS was not. Just my opinion after studying the topic for many years and reading a couple of Mr. Price's books as well, including "The Christ Myth and it's Problems".

it may work for a small percentage of people but I think the opposite happens more often. CHristianity doesn't make people any better or nice or give them anything more than any other religion gives their constituents. Obviously, it doesn't work. Prayer has never worked because there is no one to answer them.

Southpaw Σ:3 Price needs to go ahead with the crowd funding thing he's been talking about. Ehrman has said he'd be happy to debate him. I reckon Price could easily raise the money. I'd put in for it. Not sure what's stopping him. If it goes ahead, I hope it's more of a 'conversation' than a formal debate (which often boils down to 'debate tactics'). I still think there was a historical Jesus, but I think Price could ruffle some of Ehrman's confidence on the issue. Price and Ehrman are two of my favourite scholars. Would love to see them go head to head.

Loved his first point through the two minute mark. I have always held that a third party contemporary witness would be awesome. What I have looked for is evidence such as- Three wise men/or Kings and the entourages made a many months long journey of a life time to see the King of Kings. Arriving from different lands then returning home with tales of out running Herod's army after having seen the new King. Yet none of them has ever been found to have written down anything about their journey. Not even those who stayed home wrote of their leaders\wise men leaving for months to see the new King. Nothing

I've recently read the three first Gospels again and except for the beginning and end of the story it seems quite plausible that they are describing a charlatan of that time. So, I think this Jesus character has probably existed and later some people added a few mythological details to make the whole story more appealing.

Question: How did the authors of the New testament obtain the exact words Jesus spoke 2000 years ago when he was alone in the desert and alone in the Garden of Gethsemane? Answer: When Jesus hung out with his apostles he would tell them stories that went like this: "Did I ever tell you about the time Satan tried to give me what was mine if I would bow down and worship him? or My mass murdering father just now told me he wanted me tortured to death to save mankind from the hellfire where I planned on sending them. Yup, it's man made fiction from the New Testament.

ajs1031 Go ahead and try to prove it is a sixth century fraud because you won't be able to because no man can show how the image was put on the shroud by man.And once the evidence is laid out about why it cannot be reproduced by man and the many ways it leads us to believe that the image on the shroud was produced by Jesus Christ himself as he rose from the dead it will be evidence for Jesus Christ.Real physical historical evidence that Jesus existed and performed miracles and rose from the dead just as the bible says that atheists ignore. My faith in Jesus is not blind faith.

What a perfect analysis of Ehrman! An atheist who can't admit it!

Hey Matt, I've seen a few of these interviews so far and my only complaint is the acoustic reverb and noise you're getting. I know you have good equipment, and your monologues filmed in the same room don't have this issue, so I'm wondering if there's something about the format / the guest's microphone is to blame?

Tesserex Thats because (most probably) Matt speaks directly in front of the microphone when recording overdubs, but the mic is oriented towards the guest when doing the actual interview. To solve that, the easiest would be to have 2 mics in front of each person during the itw.

Tesserex During the interviews, there's only 1 microphone and it's on the guest. So when it records me, it's automatically amplifying and getting more noise. I'm ordering a new camera and a second microphone and all of these problems should go away. Initially, the interviews didn't include my voice at all, but people asked for more conversational interviews, so I'm gradually shifting.

***** Yeah there's also that, Matt's voice going quiet after Dr Price talks is actually because of the compressor settings (the "release" is too slow). Having one mic for each speaker and mixing them accordingly in the editing stage is the way to go but I'm sure the quality will improve over time ;)

This has been extremely useful for me in video and audio production, portable, diverse configurations, up to four channel: www.amazon.com/DR-40-4-Track-Portable-Digital-Recorder/dp/B005NACC6M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433977265&sr=8-1&keywords=dr-40 Thanks for another great interview, Matt Dillahunty.

Game Play - 8bit Heavy Metal Price is wearing a wireless lapel mic and sound is good to me. Room damping appears just right. For bad sound check out some of AronRa's lectures.

Great interview, Price is such an eloquent thinker. It's a shame Brett Keane adopted his look :) maybe to sound more learned. Thanks Matt.

I wish that Price had been like this in his debate w/ Ehrman... I found him to be much more convincing in this interview than in the debate. I think that maybe he felt attacked in the debate.
