Thank you so much 🙏🕊
Ahhhhh, I was so excited when you said you were going to talk about that super source button, but you didn't
Very nice explanation and tour!

Very comprehensive rundown of this tidy wee mixer, John, thanks. Your review Nudges me ever closer to buying my very own... if only to bring my bouquet of custom settings around with me on broadcast productions. Nothing more tedious in rehearsal/setup than having to reprogram your best Mixer parameters on smaller OB rigs, under the pressure of Live TV.

Glad it helped in some way!
Thanks for the run-through, I got one of these yesterday and it's exactly what I was hoping for - you helped me familiarise myself with it before I even got it out of the box. By the way, I love clicky buttons and hated the ZX Spectrum! :-)

Happy to hear it! And it turns out I have used quite a few of these since I made this and have grown to enjoy the clickity-click!

😂. Thanks for watching!
Hi great video! Question: Can you assign the top row to be your program bus for another M/E? For example, to have M/E 1 on the main, but also M/E 2 on that top row? I'm thinking of shows that have IMAG and require different "live" switches.
Great review! Question: Do you know if it’s possible to have M/E 2 program, M/E 3 program and M/E 4 program as sources on M/E 1? It would be cool to have some more complex compositions on different M/E’s and be able to take them with out jumping around too much. Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

For sure. The ATEMs with more than one M/E have a program output for each M/E. you would just loop that output back into one of the inputs of another M/E
Are you able to save a Hold Slide to the M/E?
This was super helpful! As for the 2 M/E, can those aux outputs be used to send camera outputs for CCU control?
@heretorecord

I am not 100% sure but I imagine they can. I think if you send PGM out of them then it should send the CCU too. Not tested though!
Awesome! I'm debating between getting this + a TV Studio or a TV Studio Pro (built in panel) and I'm leaning toward the dedicated panel. The use case is live church production.

If you are in a fixed location, I would certainly go for the panel!

Ohhh exciting!
Great video on this panel. Personally it's hard me to justify purchasing this panel over using a keyboard to mix with on the ATEM TV studio and a stream deck to fire macros...

Yeah I get that’s. It’s a bit of a leap. But it’s certainly worth it in the long run if enough projects come up!
how do i save all the cameras footage from an event to an external usb drive?
Can you use the Joystick to set up the SuperSource! We’re planning on „upgrading“ from a tricaster 8000 to the 4 M/E Switcher with the 2 M/E Panel and there aren’t any recent videos showing it off. Like the latest one I could find was from 2014 😅

Yeah I don’t think many people are making videos on them these days, which is a shame. I actually just sent my review unit back so I cannot say for sure, but I would suspect that you can do that!
Is it possible to afix this to a rack shelf or rack roll out tray or possibly a rack case with a drop in design similar to how a audio mixer would drop into a rack? I guess the 2 options would need to either include some threaded mounting holes on the bottom or the ability to add rack ears on the sides. I would rather not strap or velcro something as delicate as this with the joystick likely being prone to damage if it gets bounced around very much

I have certainly seen many people attach or include it in their rack (and with heavy-duty velcro being the way). I would possible want to secure it better myself also.
The highest end 4me 40! Can you connect 4 1me (2me or 4me) constellation switchers at once???? And then do you get the video output for all 4 switchers mix video???? Yes then how will go get it???? Please guide.
So does this device do your live stream switching and also camera control? Or one or the other? Or what does it really do?
@heretorecord

It is used to control an ATEM switcher. You’ll still need an ATEM
Can you control multiple ATEM Mini's, assigning one to each M/E shortcut ?
@heretorecord

You cannot. Would be interesting but it’s not a feature.

Hi sir, nice video, our production workflow also have this connected to the BM 2ME Production Studio 4K. May I ask how do you set up that the 2 Downstream keys can also apply to the Me2 not only Me1. Meaning Me1 can have 2 DSKey and me2 also have 2 DSKey. BM Software control cannot do this either, so is it because of our switcher limitation? I noticed in your video that when you press the ME2 button from the panel, the option to customize the DSKey 1 and 2 disappeared. Second question , is it possible to swap the Me1 and 2 without having to physically swap the cables? 3rd question, we are only limited with upstream key1 and 2, while key 3 and 4 are disabled, is there a work around for this? Say Me1 you have USkey 1and 2, then Me2 you have USkey 3 and 4. Or better yet have all four Uskeys up for each ME Thanks again. Been learning from your content.
@heretorecord

These are all great questions! If I am not mistaken, you only have 2 DSKs on these switchers so they disappeared because you no longer have access to them on the 2nd M/E. I'm not 100% sure what you mean about swapping the cables? There is no way around the USK limitations, whatever the switcher comes with is what you have. The 4 USKs are spread out over the 2 M/Es and they have to stay that way. Thanks for the questions!

Thank you sir for responding. Follow up question, so it means that ME2 doesn’t have a feature for downstream keys? Only ME1?
@heretorecord

That is correct as far as I can tell!
Hi, using this panel and the atem constellation, do you still need their software on a laptop? Or you don’t need the software at all?
@heretorecord
3 жыл бұрын
You will likely not need the software much at all though I suspect there will still be the odd setting or two that is controlled via the software. For example, the audio dynamics/effects are not accessible via the console for other ATEM models. Though perhaps this is not true for the constellation?
Do you know if you can do 2 PIN with the M/E 1 Atem?
@heretorecord
3 жыл бұрын
You will need an ATEM with supersource to do this. The ATEM 2M/E is the lowest model with that ability

Has anybody ever looked at the captions that youtube put to this video their bizarre.
You’re talking multiple times about doing the pip off air while it’s showing on air all the time in your multiview. Can you explain how to preview de pip so it’s not on program?
@heretorecord
3 жыл бұрын
I always like to double check before explaining this, but if I am not mistaken... the “key 1” button below the “on air” button for the USK will allow you to bring it on preview, then on your next transition the PiP will be brought on air.
I do not agree. I think that ATEM mini buttons are terrible.
