Great video. You introduced me to a few brands I didn't know about. I especially love the Ateliers Auguste bag and the last one you showed. There is certainly a place for these bags. I think there's a sector of the market that doesn't want to spend on the popular luxury brands but that wants something nicer than what some contemporary brands offer. I haven't seen any of these mid-range bags in person yet but if the quality checks out, there's a market for them.

My first love is Louis but we are on a break for minute since I’m bored right now. What has been catching my eye has been this Monceau bag. I am ready to PTT (pull the trigger). But then I see the Strathberry Midi tote and Mosaic bag and I swoon over the bar hardware. The navy with contrast stitching! Wait!…and then there is the Demillier Vancouver and the MIDI Montreal. 💙

I love this topic, Caleb! I finally was able to break into the luxury handbag arena a couple of years ago but now with this huge surge in the price point, I'm pledging not to buy new, top luxury houses. I just can't justify 10,000+ for a bag that was 4000+ in 2021. How do you step back to the mid tier as with your suggestions in this video? I'm seriously looking at Polene , Celine, and now these you showed. Are you hearing from other content creators or subscribers that they are seriously stepping off high end luxury brands?

Have been considering the mini Monceau Silver Edition for some time, but really just wish it was an exact clone of the gold edition just in silver. Happen to know of any other similar shaped and structured bags but with silver hardware ( $200-400)?

Yes I consider Coach, Tory Burch, Jacquemus, Mansur Gavriel, and A.P.C. midrange brands. And I own bags from each of designer and I think the quality is amazing. I'm staying away from Polene, Songmont, Teddy Blake, and Demellier because there are too many influencers and mixed reviews. I'm going to try Sezane.

@CalebSnell I'm staying away from Parisa Wang too because the reviews are worse than Songmont and Demellier. People have complained that the leather is hard, stiff, and dry. Also, the hardware falls off and the purse smells fake. Probably a strong glue smell.

You do a super job! Debating this bag but the thing holding me back is the box leather. I realize you haven't had it very long but, if you've carried it, is it scratching? Merci!

Not only that i'm turning more to midrange, but it's also that i'm buying midrange bags from companies from the country i'm living in. They offer excellent quality for the price.

I own the Celine medium box bag and I can say that the Auguste and APC bags' strap and clasp design looks better than the Celine. The strap of the box bag can feel uncomfortable, and the clasp is not that easy to get in and out of the bag. Lol

I agree- Celine hardware from that era can be fiddly. I had a Trapeze for a minute, and I thought the opening hardware was very fiddly.

Caleb, Please find something out about the Auguste Tellier bags. Someone made a comment that the glaze on her Auguste Tellier bag melted on her blouse from the shoulder strap because the climate temperature where she was, was extremely hot. She said Customer Service gave her a credit, and that they were sorry the glaze melted, but that it can happen at extreme high temperatures!

Hi JP! I think I read the same review. The writer shared that they lived in Florida and wore the bag when they travelled to France. I’m guessing the Florida climate is to blame. The heat and humidity there is notorious for wreaking havoc on leather goods. I’ve had my Ateliers Auguste Alma chain bag since July without any issue. That’s not to say maybe the writer didn’t get a faulty bag, but you never know. I hope you’re having a great weekend!
