what it’s a regular aviation term, nothing to be proud of and definitely not related to the pilot being a military pilot. You always refer to male operators as “sir” and female operators as “mam” throughout the world in aviation.

I saw one of these beasts flying over us one afternoon, back in the 1980s (with Russian markings), when one could park cars next to the highway facing the runway (known as Jumbo Point) in New Delhi (Palam airport). What a sight to behold, as it passed less than 100 ft above us! It was THE thing to do, after the discos (yes, that's what they were called) closed for the night. Park, music, booze and some ganja watching the international flights land. Good times, different world.

That's 100 % True Slav power and design there.

those are fixed fins to prevent large objects from entering the engine and inside is the blades. 1:52 here you can see the blades inside starting to spin after giving the permission
