Atari Kingdom - Atari 800 Dual Track
Ойын-сауық
CLOADing strategy game Kingdom on my Atari 800. Atari cassette systems are tediously slow but they do have one redeeming feature - they can play music and speech whilst loading software, thanks to their very cool dual track system.
Kingdom was released by Atari in 1980, and written in BASIC. First step here is inserting the BASIC cartridge, then switch on, type in CLOAD and hit return. Then hit PLAY button on the 410 recorder, then another hit of RETURN. And off it goes.
Always did love this cheesy music when I was a kid - great to dust all this off again and see it still working. The computer, disk drive, program recorder and software are all over 30 years old! They don't make 'em like that any more. Though they do make them quicker.
More Atari 8-bit crap to follow once I can get round to filming it.

I was never any good at it. I just used to play it to hear the music!
I picked up this game after getting my 410 recorder fixed. Cool how the music is timed to finish exactly as the game finishes loading.
Hi, this is exactly the same Disco music than "European countries and capitals" and "States and capitals"! It seems that Atari used it to several of its softwares. Thanks for posting ! ;)
Another World.
Really moving
That is awsome! :)
GROOVY MUSIC ! :-) When a game was to sharpen your mind , not blast people then do a silly dance...
3:10 who composed this track?
The loading reminds me of European Countries & Capitals.
do you have the disco loading theme separate or anyone else? Pure late seventies goodness there!
Nope fraid not, the closest to that is the section loading after the instructions. Would love to get a copy of the pure music myself!
I had this game and do not remember any of the voice over. Nor the music for that matter. Must have always had the volume turned down.

Yeah, I played the same game and it didn't have any music, voice, or loading screen that I see here. Clearly this is an 'upgraded' release over the one I played.
