My first console was a 2600 BUT my grandma got me a 7800 for her house. She ended up playing it all the time. Then when I got my Genesis I gave her my nes. She LOVED toobin’. Good times.

The lack of manuals was my only gripe about their previous re-releases. Glad these include them.

I used to think "mad" little pixel meant angry but now I'm watching you cut that box towards your hand, I guess you meant "mad" like crazy.

Been eyeing the 2600+ for a while and with this controller its hard not to want this, super excited to try them out when I can.

Food Fight might have me sold to get the 2600+. I used to play it in the arcade also. My personal record was level 64 (orange sherbet & pistachio ice cream), at a point where the levels are over in a second or two because the characters move way too fast.

I got that CX78+ Controller for my Real Commodore 64. Works Nice.

I like the slipcovers in the carts.

It's kinda sad to see that retro games companies are taking the lead, By making physical games in 2024, UnlIKE AAA games companies, Which only release digital only and wipe them when they feel like it lol 🤨

I think it's great that retro still has that power and access to be able to continue being manufactured as well as improved over time. I've never been a fan of Atari and I have to admit it's before my time but when I heard of the 2600+ I thought it was such a great idea. I want one not just for collectors' sake but to check it out and enjoy games. I'm glad retro is still up and kicking cause Triple A just isn't cutting it anymore for me.

That CX78+ control pad is a remake of the old Euro 7800 CX78 controller. It looks like they've used the same molds, or made it a1:1 remake. That's actually kind of unfortunate. If you like using your thumb on both buttons, rocking it onto both as you play, you'll be disappointed here. Unless you have Andre the Giant thumbs, you won't be doing that here. I used to buy the CX78 in bulk and sell them on eBay, many years ago. They were only a few bucks each, NOS, back then!

The Retro Game Boyz Nes pad conversions are better than the CX-78's. Cool that they finally released them stateside though.

The original manuals were black & white, these are colored which is better than the original.

I received these yesterday. I'm very happy with the quality and price point of these re-issues.

I just got mine this week, only got the controller and ninja golf. But think I'll end up getting them all, looks good

No. The 400 Mini uses USB connectors on the controller ports and the 2600+ uses an older DB9 connector.

I just grabbed that controller but I play it on my original system !! I play the real stuff I can’t grab these new games

All of this excites me, but I'm not an Atari die hard. I like this though.

The sad thing with the 7800 is that it suffered the same curse as the 5200 … the controllers were terrible. The Proline joystick was probably the worst controller ever sold with a game console, and the CX78 pad is the worst “name brand” gamepad I’ve ever used. Sure, it was better than the Proline, but it had terrible buttons and was unresponsive compared to any of its competition. Back in the day I rewired a Wico Command Control stick to a Proline board and cord to use with my 7800. Fun fact if you have an Atari 2600+: if you’re still using the original firmware that shipped with the device, the 7800 buttons are reversed in all 7800 games that use both buttons. A side effect of that bug was that some 7800 games that were actually playable with one button (like Pole Position and Asteroids) didn’t work properly. Apparently, nobody at Atari had a 7800 back in the day either … to let that one slip into production units.

It depends, still have many games i loved as a little kid, and still love. But you are right, its „difficult“, but also full of memorys… But i also loved ET (the game) ;)

There are a few I can still come back to, most paddle games tend to fit this as few games of there type ever can scratch that itch quite right and I still love Warlords to death (though I would rather go with the arcade version of it). Then there's Yar's Revenge, Montezuma's Revenge, Pitfall and a few others, but the main thing is they work in short bursts more then anything drawn out.

Ninja golf immediately out of stock. :/
