OKAY!!! The last Xenoblade cover for a while--though I have plans for a few I have been DYING to do forever, but they're quite ambitious, and somewhat out of my wheelhouse, so I don't want to say anymore just yet in case I chicken out and they don't materialize 😂😂 It was inevitable I would do this one hahaha, as Mitsuda solo piano title themes seem to be a thing since XB2...no complaints here! lol

Future Redeemed to me didn't inspire as much introspection as the main game did, but gosh was it a good time. Yes, it was shameless fanservice every step of the way and I was 100000% here for it lol, I loved playing as Shulk again, I loved how Nikol was basically baby Shulk and Glimmer was the perfect mix of Mythra and Pyra, and appropriately angsty, and both were just so lovable and fun to control. AND OF COURSE OLD MAN REX WAS EVERYTHING and just for the record I never ever EVER hated Rex in the original XB2, I thought he was such a sweet little boy and the fact he grew up to be basically Vandham with a dash of Zeke was just amazing lolllll.
Not only having both XB protags in the party but being able to revisit key locations like Colony 9, Prison Island, plus the OST BANGED with the battle theme, both Cent-Omnia day and night themes, then the added QoL bonus of being able to track every obtainable chest on the much smaller map inspired the obsessive completionist in me even though I wasn't able to get to two of them stuck in the Black Mountains sob it wasn't for lack of trying lol. Little Easter eggs and references to the main games like a small section of the High Entia Tombs, Zeke and Pandoria's daughter, and I admit one of the reasons I started Xenoblade X was because of that radio broadcast and that whole area at the end looking like NLA, I knew JUST enough about the premise of XBX to be curious about how it all tied in lol!
In short the DLC was basically this glorious nonsensical mess of Xenoblade's greatest hits and I loved every second. Never have I met a game that tried so hard to be my friend lol, letting me do the most cheeseball fanservicey stuff like Shulk and Rex having a shared ultimate attack and offspring of the main cast (not having a Sharla/Reyn descendant was a shockingly missed opportunity lolll) and so many heart-to-hearts reminiscing on events in the previous games plus the slideshow of cutscenes from the other games during the end credits. It made me so danged happy lol.
Okay anyways, about this theme. Like Moment of Eternity from the Torna DLC, it's a stripped down solo piano version of the gorgeous vocal theme, Future Awaits. The only change I made was when the melody recapped--I REALLY wanted more from the harmonies there because it's such an emotionally charged theme, so I beefed the chords up at that point to extend the climax a bit. Otherwise, it's basically the same as in the game, and I hope you enjoy it!!!!
I'll do a writeup post in due course about my plans for this year, but I hope it's been off to a great start for you all, and thank you so much again for listening to me play, reading my wall of text lol and being generally awesome and supportive ❤️ love you guys!!!!! YES YOU SHOULD!!! it's a fun DLC and a real love letter to XB fans!
I turned on KZread at the perfect time. This song is so sad, but so good. When I finished the DLC, it felt like an end to an era. I had so many mixed emotions after ending Klaus' epic. Listening to the radio in that flashback scene gave me chills. Then this song played with, well spoilers, and I felt emotionally exhausted. I'm feeling the feels all over again. Awesome job! (As usual!)

It really did hit me, like, this has been a continuous story for a decade. Takahashi FINALLY got to FINISH one. Three games each with a DLC story, covering all the major themes... and then those snippets at the end that blew our minds even harder.

Thank you so much!!!! It really did feel like the end of an era, and what a wonderful way to wrap it all up--the DLC felt like a love letter to all the fans who championed for a Western release with Project Rainfall, who stuck around for years, the new fans who came in because of Smash and every subsequent release, it was just really this outpouring of nostalgia and enthusiasm for everything Xenoblade and you really just couldn't help but love it. Mitsuda hit all the right notes with this theme and Future Awaits, as always.

@@KairuHakubiTwo games with a dlc story, but yes it must feel nice for him to finally have a successful series and finish a trilogy! I can't believe the series has been in the USA now for 12 years and almost 11 years since I completed the first one on the Wii for the first time!

Omgomg, 1:40 onwards gave me chills with those buildups. Really love how crisp your piano sounds and you performed your arrangement so effortlessly too!! I can't get enough of thisssssss

*AHHHHHH* I'm so happy that you covered this track! You play this so beautifully and emotively!! I am always in awe at how your solo playing often sounds like an entire orchestra! I remember when I first played this DLC I was always wondering what your interpretation of this track would be like. And OH BOY this sounds FANTASTIC!!!!! I also did not feel as much introspection from this DLC compared to the main game, but it sure was a great time HAHA. So much fanservice in some of the best ways possible. I was so shook when we got to colony 9 and omigosh being able to play Shulk and Rex again was soo cool. I think for me, the more I let this game sit on my mind, the more I appreciate it more. AND YES omg the offspring LOL. I think Panacea may possibly be the child or Sharla and Reyn?? Though that was mostly just based off of looks for me. But omggggg this arrangement is SO awesome!!! This was so pleasant to listen to and thank you for sharing your journey through the DLC (and the series) with us! I'll just note that I think Panacea in the DLC is actually Sharla and Reyn's daughter unless you meant not having her as a playable character was the missed opportunity. But I hope you're enjoying Xenoblade X! I'm close to finishing it myself, but got distracted by a lot of last year's releases.

When I first opened the DLC, I just sat there to listen to this beautiful piece in its entirety. Who am I kidding, I've done that for every Xenoblade title screen xD, BUT STILL! This one really hit different for me. I just love how this one has melancholy and hopeful moments. It's a perfect vibe for this DLC, especially for how it's placed in the timeline. Your performance absolutely blew me away, AMAZING JOB! I felt like I was floating at 1:38, and you put so much emotion into your playing. I really liked the beefed up chords you added, too. They sounded so good. I agree with 100% of your description. This DLC was so much fun because of all the fanservice. As someone who played XBX back when it came out, the radio scene really caught me off guard. I was like oh wait, we're getting acknowledged??? Hello??? Haha, anyway I hope you enjoy your experience with the game! And thank you for sharing your beautiful rendition of this piece 😭

omg thank you so much, that means a lot!!!!!! ❤️❤️ Mitsuda really killed it with those solo piano XB title themes didn't he hahaha? for me, it's Elysium in the Blue Sky/Where we used to be, GOD that theme is just so dang beautiful and I could listen to it forever, but really I couldn't agree more, they're just all so wonderful!!! And gosh the DLC was just so much fun right? I mean there were parts that were so corny but I still loved it so much anyways lol!!!! HAHAHAHAHA OMG XBX I'm literally at the end, just trying to mop up as many sidequests as possible but omg those affinity links take FOREVER yeesh hahahaha

Great as always, and you hit me harder because I just finished this DLC last week...and you know what, I took again Xeno 3 to look at the city statues heroes and read what happened to them :) So I decided to do some ascension quests that i didn't complete on my run. Also I hadn't played the dlc pass content, and post game(like Nia and Melia stories)...there is so much content, actually I had a lot of fun playing the white nopon challenges to unlock the outfits. A lot of great feelings for Xeno3 and the dlc...and a lot of love in it.

omg yes there really is so much lore, sidequests, and postgame content, at first I didn't bother to do Nia and Melia's until I was strongly urged to do so, and I'm glad I did, they added so much and it was so nostalgic to have them around again! Though I didn't do the Nopon challenges hahaha, there was SO MUCH TO DO LOL but I love that! It's like a hallmark of XB games, I'm at the last chapter of XBX and have only done about 30% of the sidequests and still discovering playable NPCs I can put in my party lol

oh hey hey not leaving at all ahaha!!! This is just probably gonna be my last XENOBLADE cover for a while, though if I get my act together, hopefully I might get one or two out in short order hahaha. We'll see what this year brings! =)
Yessss Xenobladeeeee! Really beautiful rendition! I really enjoy how both Future Redeemed and Torna DLCs have a solo piano title track that's then later revealed as a gorgeous vocal theme for the credits sequence. Future Redeemed was such a joy to play, all the references to the three games made me super nostalgic for the series and finishing it was a bittersweet combination of feelings between being satisfied with what I just played and the bitter feeling of having finished the last story content of the trilogy haha. Though in the end it felt like a reminder of how much I love the series.

AND YES FOR SURE it really felt like a love letter to the series, they gave us EXACTLY what we wanted even it was corny at times, it all came from a place of affection for the fans and I loved that so much!!! and Mitsuda solo piano tracks for the XB title screens is a trend that needs to continue for wherever they decide to go with the next XB -- if they go with XB or do something completely different, either way, must continue lol!!!
after fearing the end of the klaus trilogy for over 8 months, i finally decided to beat future redeemed last saturday. i shed far less tears than i anticipated. today, i remembered there was some post-game content so i decided to hop on for an hour or two to finish up some stuff--just beating the unique monsters i missed, getting that last quest done, really only those things. i cried more during the final quest than during the credits of FR. seeing all of these NPCs, it just hit me it felt so similar to Torna, and of course that made me think of my time playing other XC games, and i just started crying silently. i saved my game in the entrance of yesterdale, and retreated to my room to let my emotions out further. what do i see when i open my laptop to youtube? this song. how poetic that your music appeared in my time of emotion. farewell, klaus. hello, future. i'm stepping out that door.

ahhhh I feel you so hard on this, even though it wasn't my favorite of the series, XB3 was just such a special game and hit me the hardest. I love that you compared it to Torna, going around getting to know all the NPCs and the world really WAS a similar experience and I love the Torna DLC with all my heart and the ending wrecked me gahhhhh, at least XB3 was more hopeful in that everything and everybody would come back and live together happily, which is what they deserve!!!! It was a beautiful end to the Klaus saga!

A fantastic arrangement of the title song and you played it with such great feeling as always! I usually roll my eyes when met with shameless fan service but I too was 100000% here for it just this once. Now I have to take time to play XB2 so I'll understand rest of the fan service.
