Hello Mike. Good night video for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Overall, the exterior lighting looks good as well as the interior lighting. Jeep did a good job by making the exterior lights and interior lights all LED which is standard across all six trim levels. In reference to lumination they missed in two areas. I'm on agreeable terms with you that in the cargo area the lighting could've been a little better. Like what you said a light fixture should've been on the right side as well and not just having it on the left side only. The two lift gate lights are there which is good, but the lumination would've been complete if there was a cargo light on the right side. On the Limited trim I also agree with you that there should've been puddle lights for the front doors. They could've included that. I assume on the top three trims Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve the puddle lights are probably there. Lights for the door sills are there too for those three trims. In general auto manufacturers always put in one maybe two features or make an improvement for the next year model year or the model year for the year after that. With that being said maybe they will include a light fixture on the right side of the cargo area for next year or the year after if they get a lot of inquiries about it. As for the inquiries I will be sending them one in the coming week or two via email submission on their web site and via regular mail aka snail mail. This isn't regarding lighting, but Jeep should've included a USB port and a USB-C port in the arm rest storage console. They also should've included a power outlet in there as well. The outgoing fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee had a power outlet in the arm rest storage console so, that should've stayed intact with the new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. Besides the four gripes I mentioned, overall Jeep did a good job with this new generation 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Like previous generation Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles, this new fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee will also do well in overall sales.

Hello, do you guys know if you get the navigation package on the limited, you can use it too on the dashboard? Or that's only available in the Overland and summit trim?

My Palisade Limited has the most powerful headlights i have seen on a vehicle. When i come to a intersection to make a left or right turn. The whole intersection lights up. The lights out powers all of the cars. But i am considering switching to the jeep Cherokee l or the land rover discovery. I dont know which one is better in terms of reliability.

I got the altitude model, I don’t think it comes with the ambient lights across the the front cabin. I can’t find controls for it. Do you know if this is only available in the limited trim and above?

Just picked up a JGC-L Limited yesterday. Why are the daytime running lights acting as the low beams for night driving? Why don’t the amber parking lights act as the daytime running lights? It doesn’t make any sense to me. People have been flashing me because the headlights stay on. I know there’s an option to turn it off, but I prefer to have some kind of DRL’s on.

I wish Chrysler would keep doing the amber/red switchback LEDs for the tail lights like they did with the Cherokee and Ram 1500.

I have Jeep GC Limited L and my daytime running lights are yellow not white, I mean the turn signal above the headlight is yellow…in the video I see it also white…is there a way to change it?

See if you can get the Summit Reserve trim. The lighting is better on that one.

These headlights look impressive, I believe this reflector style comes standard on the laredo, altitude, and limited trims. I'm wondering did the specific one you drove have an option pack that gives you better headlights over the standard ones? Im trying to see how the laredo or altitude would do at night, but no one has done a night drive/headlight test of those trims yet, only the limited or higher.

they all have the same headlights, just the laredo doesnt come with fog lights

(8) x two tone exterior color options listed on Jeep's website for Overland and Summit under "compare vehicles". When you click on "build" on the configurator you're given (3) two tone exterior color options. Example: "Lake Front Blue Exterior Paint/Black Clear Coat Exterior Paint is not showing up when you use the build configurator! What's up with that? Am I missing something?

@@natecarnes7731 hey. Yeah it's great No problems. There's a recall (which needs a software update in October), but mine doesn't have the rear camera issue (guess it's not picking up certain objects). That's a easy fix and not mechanical. I'm actually getting better gas mileage than my 18 gc. I'm all city driving at 15 mpg, not bad. Car is super nice in every way. Smooth ride for sure. I have a 3 and 1 year old they love to walk around inside the car between the rows. While parked, of course 😊

Just got a 2023 Limited 😭

I have the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L limited edition and I have the ambient lights but I don’t have the app to change the colors, do you know if there’s a way to download that app or have the dealer install that app. Because why have it and not be able to change it.

Eventually Mike will review the Overland trim and the other trims. He does the reviews one trim level at a time for whichever vehicle it is. Also, it depends on availability. It was either two or three days ago dealerships started getting the Overland trim and the two other high trims Summit and Summit Reserve. Right outta the gate since late June to early this month dealers were getting the Limited trim and the two other lower trims Altitude and Laredo. Just like you I want him to do the Overland trim too, but I know it'll take time. In addition to that one with the V8 engine. As for the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine Jeep made a change on trim level availability. Historically, this engine was available starting with the Limited trim. However, this time Jeep decided to up the ante by having it available starting with the Overland trim. So, the Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trims will have the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. I saw a demonstration video for ambient lighting for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and it was good. The available colors, setting the location and adjusting the intensity level is nice.

@@stevenrodriguez9655 I agree. The Overland trim is the one I plan on getting, but the only blemish about it are the small fog lights. I don't know why they did that for the Overland trim. They should've made the fog lights the same. Four out of the six trim levels have the fog lights. Next year around this time I plan on getting the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. This year is the first year of the new generation, but I'll get the second year of the new generation. Like what automakers usually do regardless of branding is they include one or two more standard features on vehicles each year after the first year. As for Jeep they'll do that and I hope they will also make the fog lights on the Overland trim the same size as the other trim levels. When I get mine I'll get it nicely equipped with the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. That's one thing for sure I'll do. Another thing I'll do is have a two tone exterior color. The main body of the vehicle will have what ever primary color it is and then the roof will have that gloss black painted color. Nice combination. That color combination will make the vehicle look more appealing. That option is only available on the three top tier trims Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve.

Wonder if the Summit reserve will have anymore lights like puddle lights?

What trim level is this? Limited

Your headlights are not supposed to be evenly distributed. They favor the right side of the road so not to blind on coming vehicles. That is also present in the high beam lighting as well. By illuminating the lower road lights you will increase the field of lighting when using the low beam lights making them more than sufficient.

Can you change the color on the amber day lights? They look better in white

In 2022 Grand Cherokee L Limited Trim level Rare-view Auto Dimming Digital Display Mirror and Surround View Camera is not available as standard features or they cannot be added as package. Your video shows both are available in 2021 Grand Cherokee L Limited Trim level. Is the video accurate ? Rare-view Auto Dimming Digital Display Mirror is available as upgrade in pro Tech group in Over Land and summit trim levels. Surround View Camera System is available in Over Land as an upgrade and it is standard in Summit trim levels.

Make sure the brightness is turned up.

The fact that the back-lit buttons are blue and that ugly bmw orange makes me excited about this over the bmw x5.

Why on earth they’ve chosen to go with the reflective headlights? Land Rovers and even new LC has matrix headlights tech incorporated, here it’s not even adaptive. This looks like the biggest downside of the new GC so far 😕

I wish America would just make rear amber turn signals mandatory for all new cars. Also the parking lights look like normal low beams… they look no different.

Some features are not there due to the fact that the trim level for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L in this review video is the Limited trim. The Limited trim is the third tier trim out of the six that's available. From base to high is the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. Based on what I've noticed the top three tier trims Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve will have more features. In reference to the lumination on the Limited trim, Jeep should've at least put the puddle lights for the front doors. They could've included that.

@@JDMSwervo2001 Historically, the Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles doesn't have any issues on long term reliability. Up until this day I still see the first generation Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles driving on the road. The first generation is from model years 1993 to 1998. Later generation Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles like the second, third which I have and outgoing fourth generation the same thing. So, just like how the previous four generations are good on reliability the same can be said for this new fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Another thing to keep in mind is that for the Jeep Grand Cherokee it's the most awarded SUV than any other.
