@@houseglue2183 It need to me humid and warm, dry areas like Texas generally aren't as humid as a forest in the Ozarks or Lousiana, here in Mexico (right at the border with Texas) is pretty much the same climate, even worse for the story, in a mountain corpses get frozen, (ie the Himalayas, where corpses from the 80's are now landmarks)

Commander Shepard. East Texas, especially southeast Texas, but east Texas as a whole, is just as wet, hot, and humid as Louisiana, Mississippi Alabama, and Florida, and all the way up to Washington DC (which was a swamp before it was drained to make the capital). Just like all the Gulf States, East Texas also has swamps, alligators, marshes, mosquitoes and the warm Gulf of Mexico with high heat and humidity between 70-90% year round. It’s only when you go west of Central Texas and Hill Country that the climate and landscape drastically changes to a more desert and dry environment. West Texas (and north Texas as well) has excruciating summer heat (East too) and colder winters, but does lack the warm gulf and high humidity that East Texas has. Texas is way too large (over 800 miles from its easternmost to westernmost borders) to paint with a single climate brush.

A good adaptation to the movie, Alive. Survival is a key element in human instinct. Nobody could relate or maintain sanity if he/she is put under those circumstances itself. Eating flesh is not my priority but if it comes to it when all hope limits downward. I will have to break bread in the most humane outcome. An Excellent narration and well written story overall.
