    I'm not quite where this lady is but my child turned 3 last week and I am seeing so much improvement in him. I would say my boy has better pronunciation but he's just saying loads of words and not sentences. O feel like we're finally coming out of it and leaving the dread and fear behind.

    My grandson is 2. He doesn't say any words. Screams when he wants something. He is in speech therapy, hearing test is scheduled in a few weeks, he hears fine, he understands us. Just not talking. He grunts, grunts grunts, just need him to grunt with his mouth open to get the words out. I have watched tons of videos. Gonna go get an electric toothbrush tomorrow. He is so smart. We have learned the "all done" sign language, and "more". So, there's that project and he loves the App "Speech Blubs" we just started this week. Gets mad and has a fit when I take the phone from him. He waves bye bye but says pa like a whisper. And loves Ready Steady Go (screams) not say go, but screams... so he understands. I know he screams to let us know what he wants needs, I will do anything and everything to help my sweet Munchkin. Anyway. Love the channel and so happy your little one has made so much progress. Love to all the Moms and Dads and Mimi's.

    My son is 2 tomorrow. We speak to him in both Spanish and English, I see most kids online can say many two words phrases like red ball, yes mommy, etc. My son says one 2 word phrase and about 15 single words. He understands and can point to dozens of things but doesn’t verbalize them and his motor skills are excellent. He can eat with a spoon without making any mess for example. Based on your video I feel he’s ok, he’s excelling in most areas and speech should catch up soon. Using these tips will help.

So I am helping to find assistance with speech therapy and early intervention. He’s very active very tall and understands, but speech delay is one of the areas that is a concern. Hopefully he will be able to ti enroll in the great public school early intervention program in our community for his age for 2 years olds this coming fall. We used to do library story times and play groups, but I've been bad about it the last year because I'm homeschooling my 12 yo stepdaughter now. Its so hard to get out to do stuff right now because ya most is still closed. You are doing your best and love your son so thats all that matters Mama! Its so hard not too feel guilty as a Mom about not "doing enough" but language delay is in no way a parents fault. So much comes into play when it comes to a speech delay but it is all out of our control. Your son is so lucky to have a concerned and supportive parent like you!

    @@wtfmategaming Hello~ He has been in speech therapy for a year now. He can form sentence and respond to questions. He improved so much. Sometimes he mumbles and talks encohetantly but we try and give him the words for what we think he is asking. He will then shake his head no or yes. I have learned alot from his speech theapist too. We noticed a huge jump in progress when he started preschool. We went though early intervention in Michigan and their recommendation was preschool in a special education program. His teacher said he has mastered everything she threw at him. I remember how I felt a year ago and I know the fear and worry. Get your child what ever help is available. If you believe in God pray over him. It will get better.

    @@TiaRenee thank you! That’s great news, I am glad things improved! We are going to put him in some speech therapy, he says some words but not many. My worry is that he starts school in September 2023 and I don’t want him to go there not being able to communicate with his peers and getting ostracized or picked on. He seems to understand whatever we say to him or ask of him, he can count and has outstanding memory, just doesn’t talk. How long when you started speech therapy, did you notice improvements?

  • @TiaRenee

    @TiaRenee

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@wtfmategaming My son was exactly like this. He understood but couldn't communicate. When he was evaluated, the speech therapist said how frustrating that must me. He had big tantrums which have also improved. I saw improvement in the first three months ( with repeating after me). It was when he was able to go in person that alot changed. We used cards so that he could request what he needed ( snack, water, puzzle, etc). When he started going in person didn't need them for much longer. When he started school he couldn't form sentence ( just words and a few phrases) and was still in a diaper. Because it was soecial education they accomodated him. He can use the potty now ( still working on poop) and even when he is emotional he can communicate what is wrong. I think it was a combination of school, speech therapy, working with him at home and getting older. The therapist taught me how to speak with him and build his eye contact and communication. There were some tought days but I made it my goal to spend 15 mins a day. Even if he was crying.

She's almost 4 and everyday she shows us something new that she has learned. It's amazing to see the change. She can and does speak very often and now at level she should be, her vocabulary has exploded. Just working on a few letter sounds now and WH questions which over the last few weeks is getting down already.❤️🥰☺️ Thank you for asking God bless you!

    My child is three years and one month he hasn’t spoken he says mama and baba but he doesn’t really use it to call me, he just says it, but it’s really confusing because I don’t know if he has autism or not, there are these few times where it feels like he called me using it, but not always, also he doesn’t sit still when I want to hug him it’s like he wants me to be around so if I go to another room, he would follow me, but he would still stay somewhere where we have space in between, sometimes he does eye contact normally and sometimes he just refuses to look at you because He wants to play. Sometimes he laughs for no reason and jumps and runs. Sometimes he doesn’t express his pain so his brother could be literally beating him, and I wouldn’t hear him even scream. And sometimes he would scream at him and beat him to get away. And expresses pain normally saying booboo and coming to me to show me where it hurts. I noticed that when I get angry at his brother for beating him, he laughs. Seems like he likes it when his brother cries. I’m so confused in what should I do He hasn’t spoken or said any other word than mama and baba and “give me” in my language which is”iddi” Also sometimes he would cuddle with me and kiss me in a weird way. It’s not really kissing it’s like he’s trying to bite me, but with his lips instead of teeth, but I think that’s because I used to bite him like that because his cheeks are so cute and I want to bite him without hurting him, he only comes to me if he wants some thing for me he would drag me to the place and wait for me to give him the thing he doesn’t even point at things, I feel like I don’t understand him in a way where it really hurts me and makes me cry, I wish I could do something for him I took him to two doctors. One told me he might have autism. The other one told me he’s just fine and I need to wait and teach him words like it was just a speech delay. I’m so worried about him I was too terrified to admit it and label him with autism, but now I’m ready to just do anything to help him. It really breaks my heart since no one in my family was ever like this and they all already spoke under two years old..

He can say very few words and he cannot combine two words. He was born with tongue tie, which was clipped out when he was 3 months old. Not sure if that is the reason, we are going to meet doctor soon. Will keep you posted.

    Has your son had a hearing test? That is usually the first step with a speech therapist. My son is 4 now (he was 2 when I filmed this video) and he still drops sounds on those words you mentioned too. He has a hard time articulating C, F, and S sounds still. Its just lots of modelling and elongating the sounds so he can try and copy.

    This is not something I struggle with. I don't say "say". I usually just ask my daughter questions. "Who is that?" "What is that?" "Is that Dada?" "Do you hear/see the dog?" "Do you want to eat (and do the sign for eat)?" I usually let her work on an answer before moving on. She doesn't speak but I give her the chance to try to say the word and I can see her mentally working even if she doesn't say anything.
